when i was at home with the boys, i felt like i had to "entertain" all the time, but really, they LOVE having time just to potter about by themselves. Issy had just started walking at that age, so we walked in the backyard alot! Even if there crawling the tactile feel of grass or bark is excellent for them.

We also went to active movement at the library .. (on a side note you can get an active movement dvd from sparc for free).

Mainly music is usually cheap.

We also did jumping beans and swimming

It is just me & DD at the moment & my DD is only 8 months but I have been trying to do things each day to keep both of us entertained, when we are at home I do things like go outside and point out different trees, plants etc, chase the dog, count the cars going past and sit on the big swing thing we have, when the weather is crappy I do things like stick stickers on the bottom of a shoe box and attach ribbons etc to it DD loves it and tries to pick the stickers off, keeps her entertained for awhile, I fill boxes with empty yoghurt pots, a keyring and other small toys and she goes through pulling everything out and playing with them. We play ball inside just me rolling it along the floor to her and then her pushing it back to me, we dance to the songs on the radio. I also swap her toys & books over every few weeks or so that she does not get bored with them.

If we go out I tend to just go to free places like the duck pond, playgrounds, the museum, beach, library etc.

I hope thats of some help, it may not be due to the age difference, I will be interested to see what others say as I always feel like I run out of things to do that are fun and interesting for her (and me)

Hey,

Just interested in how you spend the day with your wee ones.

Finley and I have been away for a couple of months with family and been entertained the whole time and now its just us again and I feel like I have forgotten stuff to do, plus he has changed heaps.

What sort of activities are good to do with them, I feel like I should do more.
