Daizy, we live over the railway lines - Kaimanawa Street, I think there's a playcentre close by, but I only thought they catered for toddlers?

Gosh I can't imagine having two children right now. You must be one busy mumma. Is it your girls in the photo - they are gorgeous!

A good way of meeting new mums is the local playgroups. There's lots of good ones around, just unfortunately most of them are on holiday at the moment Where abouts in Paraparaumu are you?

Hi Nic, gosh that's a lot of moving! My parents are actually in Levin so we are up there quite a bit. Funny that your parents are down here.

Pram is good, just trying to make an effort to meet new people. We moved to Pram in November, so it's been quite hard meeting new people with everyone being busy with xmas. I find a lot of the people already have there little groups of friends from their antenatal classes.

How old is your bubba? Liam's nearly 6 months. It would also be great for him to start socialising with other babies.

Hey girls! Thanks for all the congrats

We came home yesterday morning, with out either of us having barely any sleep and me starving cause hospital food is crap! I told them they don't cater well for BF mum's, serving up ice-cream and choc sauce etc! No fruit or veg. Tisk tisk! Neeway..

Had a really good,smooth fast labour which im stoked about! Contractions started about 4 i think, just minor ones and then kept getting stronger and real close together but were all different lengths so didn't really think much of it! At 9 called Mw after waters broke at 8.15 n things started getting stronger. was in the bath when she turned up, she didn't bother doing an internal and just left me be. Then bam! She left and things started getting pretty intense, and i remember being on the floor at about 10.15 saying i really want to push and mum saying to me, no, don't push! Your not ready. At that time we got in the car, wel i tried but that was the worst trip of my life! The whole time i was trying so hard not to push, then we finally got there and got into the room and said to my MW i really want to push, so got on the bed and his head was nearly out! then it was a couple more and he was out

It was amazing, and not to painful! Can you believe i started writing this at 2am and have only just finished! Baby Jarvi arrived safely yesterday at 10.50pm after a VERY fast labour!! I think it was less then 5hours including pushing. He weighs a very healthy 8lb 10oz! And is just perfect according to Berg hehe.

But she did it all by herself just like we knew she would

Haha sounds a bit like my MW lolz. But just cos of the heavy bleeding and me being Rhesus neg she thought it would be safer.

Um i think i stayed 2 nights or 3 and a half days lolz. I only left cos i felt comfortable with BF and just wanted to be home lolz. I could have stayed longer though.

Im not sure which is closer, but Otaki is classed as Horowhenua which is a different region so have to go to different hospitals etc. Like if i go for a scan in Pram i have to pay but i don't have to pay in Palmy, its pretty screwed! I hate paying for scans haha. Arg geez i wonder why im having so many pains and nothings happening! Its really frustrating.

Umm its from Finland! People (His dad mostly) say it sounds Indian, but when you know where its from it doesn't sound Indian! Well not to me anyway.. He wants the Jarvi Joseph so he can call him JJ cause he hates Jarvi! I hate JJ! Poor boy will be so confused!

Thats the same as me, i bleed aswell! Not too heavily thought.. My MW is really laid back about everything haha she says "Thats normal" "Its just your body preparing" "yes,quite common" etc. Everything that happens doesn't fase her at all. Yeah thats like if you have to go to Palmy for something, everything going fine you can get transfered back to Levin. How long did you stay in Keneperu for??

MW is coming tomorrow to do more induction, i had 3 needles in on tuesday! and now im going to get 2 big needles in my lower back! Arg, not the biggest fan of needles. But hopefully it will do something!

Haha is your mum into that stuff to Aithne?? My mum said she's had dreams about bub, and has told me what hes going to look like etc. Its quite cool! His dads like 1/8th Chinese and his eyes r a lil slanted (well mum seems to think so haha) and she said she wanted to see weather he had my eyes cause she hoped he did! and she said he does which is cool! I had a dream once about him when he was a few months old, and he was sitting there smiling at me and laughing!

I hope your MW or Levin hosp arent too anxious though cos i had planned to give birth in Keneperu (about 10mins from where i live) which is just like the Levin place but when i went there to see my MW she did a stretch and sweep and i started bleeding heavily and cos she didnt know why she sent me to Welly hosp to be monitored (thinking i still had about a day before bubs would come). The DR at Welly said she wanted to keep me in over night (which my MW wasnt happy bout cos she thought i should be resting at home) ANYWAY nothing went wrong, the bleeding i think was just my show but alot of it and Rory was born without any drugs so mum ended up driving me and Rory to Keneperu at 6am anyway. I was born in Palmy hosp haha. Just a random piece of info hahaha.

Nope sorry Berg. My waters broke at 10.30am just after i woke up then had minor back cramps then went into full on labour at 10pm and had extremely painful contractions then he was born at 2.55am so my whole labour went super fast.

Yeah well thats the thing, if anything goes wrong you have to get in the ambulance and go to Palmy! So i mean if your high risk or have anything wrong they won't let you give birth at Levin. Im in Otaki :) Levin has a pool aswell, and since i want a all natural labour it suits me better for what i want! And the new birthing unit is really nice and private. I'am a bit worried about the food though

I would have to go to Palmy, cause they have no doctors in Levin, only MW's. Then i would have to be monitored etc and i really don't want that. I believed my body could do this on its own! My mums - lets just say "in touch with the other side" (i know each to their own if they believe or not!) and she thinks im going to have him on Monday. Which would be good cause then i wouldn't have to go to Palmy at all for my day assessment and induction date! Not too hard.I did it in Levin (less traffic then Porirua) We just drove around the roads close to Pehu school and then got on the motorway heading towards Wellington and turned right down the road just after the vegie shop i think. Im guessing you know the areas im talking about haha. Spent 15mins driving around then 15mins spotting hazards pulling over and telling the dude and then the last 15mins saying what hazards i saw, what i was doing about them and road condition all while driving. It was much easier then i had syched myself up for lolz. If you went for it im sure you would do fine!!

The pools not super deep as its only up to roughly my boobs i think and im average height about 165-166cm

yup, have been working on it just dumped some algae remover and chlorine in it, now needs a blimmin good vaccumn and well be pretty set. Maybe I should organise a littlies swim party in the new year - scarily enough thats not that far away and then some more of you will have bubs by then! ?

Nope but i did see them in uncle bills, its the same thing but i got it from bunnings it was a couple bucks cheaper and possibly a little bit bigger i cant remember. But the same thing anyway. My mum is going to sew net curtains around it, stole the idea off the other gazebo in the uncle bills catalog haha.

Uncle bills is great, you should all move to Porirua so you can go to it all the time hahaha.

Now i just got to get him a big bag of plastic balls (xmas present) and he will be all set. Haha i don't understand how mums can just send their kids places without knowing about what goes on and stuff!

There will be lots more houses (hopefully!), theres always more in the paper than there are on TM. I just like looking at pics! haha wow you do pretty much have everything! I have linen and a few towels and stuff. Sounds like we would pretty much be sorted!

My ideal place sounds like yours! Clean and tidy for the babies, like not moldy and damp. I love open plan living and as private as it can be! Don't like being able to see into other peoples houses or them being able to see what your doing.

Yeah it will be easy to grab! hehe im really excited. Haha that would of been handy to go into labour with the mw! the daddy came up today and we sorted out whats going to happen when he decides to pop out. Seems like it will all be fine. He was like i'll have to ask if anyone wants to come up with me, (ive only met his sis and bro once!) i was like um, not for a few weeks atleast haha.

Wow that place does look HUGE!! I know what you mean. Those few weeks after baby is born is really good to stay inside with them.

Haha yea, i see a great house but then think oh poo it will probably be snapped up fast which sucks lolz.

Well i have a basic 2 seater+1+1, fridge/freezer, small coffee table, bunks that can convert to 2 singles, a tv or 2, lots of kitchen stuff, vacuum, linen basically all the basics you need to set up a house. Except a microwave, mum gave that to my cousin.

When i worked in Spotlight i grabbed heaps of cool bargains on sale. I got me this cute as pink spotted dish set hehe. and a wok thing, and food processor. I have gotten lots of cheap bargains so they have all added up now which is great lolz. Plus things my nana has given me or that i was left when my aunty passed away.

What is your ideal place? so i can keep a look out. Mine is easy to contain flat backyard, fenced so you have privacy, laundry isnt outside and downstairs but close so i can still see or run to Rory if i need to (unlike the one i have now) and washing line is close to the house again so i can get to Rory fast if i need too, big bedrooms, and a open plan living would be nice so i could see Rory while making dinner lolz.

Yay for getting your bag all packed. Toilet stuff is easy to grab when the time comes. I did some work experience at montessori last year. They have two seprate sections. The one i worked in was really nice. great teachers, big outdoor play area, kids were really nice. but apperntly the other side (which is smaller and stricter i think) my friend said wasnt so nice. the teachers werent too interested in the kids.

I'll have my lil one sleep in my room but want his own room for his stuff haha so i can have my big bed! Im sleeping in a single atm and it sucks! but won't fit with his stuff in my room. 217's not to bad i think? Winz gives you more money for accom when you have to pay more and arnt living at home. i think $450 for 4 bedrooms is the max to pay!!

Whitby is a nice area, and i looked up and they have a montessori pre-school there which is good! i really want him going to montessori.

Oh i saw that house, had it on my watch list hehe. It is a really cool house. It would be 217 shared. I LOVE the mirror tiles in the bathroom haha they look soo funky. Whitby is a good area! Yea thats why im gutted i cant apply for a house now and then when you were ready you could have moved in haha.

Oh weird dream lolz. I dont think i had a dream about Rory. I had a couple nightmares but they werent baby related haha.

Haha im the same! i started looking on TM for 4 bedroom places, there are a few in Whitby and around for not to bad prices! I'll have a look at the link haha i just woke up. Dishwashers r good!! I can't move for atleast untill babys a few weeks old!

I had a dream i had him, and it was really screwed! I got induced this week, and i was ringing mum saying i forgot to put undies in my bag!! just get lots out of my draw and bring it!! hahaha it was strange!

I got bored last night so looked at some 4 and 3bdrm houses haha., Omg i found the perfect 3 bdrm place. good area, nice veiws, 2 bthrms, DISHWASHER . and really cheap (shared) 180pw per person which is basically what i am paying now for board . Im soo gutted i cant afford it by myself else i sooo would have applied for it haha.

Oh and Mana is like a 5 min drive from Porirua or a 2 min train ride lolz

Yea thats a good thing about the hospital stay. You get some alone time with baby. Even though it sounds like a scary thought it isnt too bad and the nurses are always there if you really need them.

Haha i know what you mean about having noone to play with. Haha house sharing sounds like a very good idea!!

Oh tru, im glad my sisters are on my dads side (and much younger than me) so have there own mums to supply them stuff haha.

Haha baby proofing. I dont even know where to start. im just taking things out that look like he will pull on top of him or will try to eat so far lolz.

He is now getting from one side of the room to the other .

And guess what. Yeah, im not looking forward to the hospital stay :( but it will be alright. Give me a chance just with me and baby cause when we come home it will be my family here 2, and them bitching at me and how much of a help it will be having mum here, i want to do things my way and i find people that have had babies have alot to say about how you do it.

Yeah a leveled back yard, so we can do the paddling pool thing n stuff! Im gutted in a weird sort of way that i don't have any other kids, cause he will have no1 to play with at home! We should look into house sharing Aithne

My sister got all the unwanted stuff when she moved out, so nothing left for me! But thats ok. Yeah yay for the capsule! Now everything is ready for him to get his arse out and come! haha i want him now

I think the only reason they advise against it during preg is because if it got infected it would take longer to heal cos your immune system is lowered. I dont think the ink gets into your blood i think it only stays in the skin.

I hated staying in the hosp by myself. I was always scared if Rory cried that he would wake the other people up and i hated calling the nurses in lolz

I want a place with a levelled back yard. I live on a hill atm so couldnt get him a tramp or pool when he is older and he cant play on the grass now as he would just roll down

Lol. how cool though that you were in a fashion show Gen!! I know how you feel with the morning sickness. Up until then i hadnt missed a day at tech but when i started running to the loo every 5 or so mins i had to take a couple weeks off. It was horrible

Had a busy day yesterday. Took Rory into welly to meet some mums and bubs from my due in thread. He was such an angel. And he is really starting to get the hang of the crawling.
