My two are in the same room together. Alia grizzles that Cooper wakes her in the night but she never seems to actually wake. I grizzle cause unfortunately they are also in my bedroom

I think we will probably put Bella in with Caden when she is 4-6 months old, we will just see how it goes to start with. Our two bedrooms are really close together, and Bella can be crying really loud and Caden wont wake, so hopefully they will be all good in the same room.

I just wanted to bump this up and ask how it has been going for you guys that put kids together. there will be 12 months between my two and though we have plenty of spare rooms we wanna put them together cos we rent out our spare rooms to friends and love having a full house as well as plenty of ppl to help out. both kids will be in cots so we dont have to worry bout them climbing out for a very long time and im not worried bout the noise cos i expect them to get used to each others noises. i can vaccuum under macks bed since day one and he wont wake up. lol.

we are planning on putting bubs in with henry when its about 6months old. Before that itl be in with us in our room. THere are a couple of reasons why were are gonna do this. One we only have a 2bedroom house, two it means we only have to heat one room at night (as we dont bother heating our room) and i figure henry is gonna be so young when bubs is born he will adjust quickly and wont remember a time when it was just him in the room alone. We are keeping henry in his cot though and getting another cot for bubs because i want henry confined as long as possible, plus his cot converts to a toddler bed anyway so it still couldnt be used for baby and last but not least their bedroom wouldnt fit a single bed and a cot it it.
I feel quite comfortable with our decision and even though in february we will look for a new place to rent (probably with 3bedrooms) I think we will still put them in together.

My 2 share and there is only 17 months between them. It is no problem at all. James can scream the house down at night and not wake Tom and vice versa...to a certain degree. Sure, there are times when I will go in a bit earlier than I would like because one is crying and I know that the timing is just right to wake the other but mostly its all good. In fact some afternoons when I put them both down at the same time, they babble to each other (well James babbles and Tom tells him what to do) and then drift off to sleep without the usual screaming that can happen on their own.

Tom is still in a cot and I intend to keep him in one for as long as I can.

I put James in with Tom when he was about 4 months old so Tom would have been 21 months.

Even though we have moved into a 4 bedroom house, I have kept the boys together. It can most certianly be done. Up untill a few weeks ago we were all living in a one bedroom place so had no choice but to all share since day 1.

As they were sharing from the begining they quickly got used to eac other noses and would sleep through almost anything. And that was sleeping right on top of each other in bunks.
The crying at night was never too much of a problem, at first Keira was too excited to sleep when the baby woke but quckly got over it. We had Maddi in the basinette right next to our bed and we didnt let her cry too much.
After a few months and her sleeping right through we didnt have any problems with them waking each other.

I think it's the night waking and crying I'm most concerned about. I fully expect the climbing into the cot for cuddles and Ollie getting in and out of bed at least a bit - just wasn't sure about the sleeping through other noises. I think as long as you have an open mind to the 'expected' they will be fine! We have had to bring Gabrielle into our bed a couple of times when Tane was coughing in his sleep and was waking her up. hehehe Daniel gets into mischief but I've made his room as boring as possible. There are no toys in there what so ever. All thats in there is his bed, dressing table and a bin on top for his shoes and nappies. We only have one bedroom until we move out in the next few months and we have had Arianne in with us since birth, it is kinda annoying when she is this age when Mummy and Daddy want special cuddles she can sometimes wake up. Not speaking from own experience.

God kids however have about 2 1/2hrs difference and the twins were fine didn't wake up with the older bro etc. The only problem they found was that the older bro used to climb into the cot with them because he wanted to cuddle so just watch out for that. He had been in a big boy bed for awhile as well so it wasn't that he wanted to be in the cot.

Yep - I'm thinking I will start transitioning Ollie to the big boy bed soon after the baby is born (as long as he is relatively settled in general. I think it could be done the only suggestion I would have is make sure that Ollie is really good in his big boy bed before you do it. Kate, DH and I are moving back to my parents place in early september (in the flat) and the flat only has 2 bedrooms, so Bella will be in with us until she is roughly 6 months old, and then she will be going in with Caden.
I was actually talking to mum about this yesterday, she reckons they would be fine, as lots of people have to do it.

I'm wondering what people's experiences are of babies and toddlers sharing a bedroom.

I plan to have this one in with us in a bassinet until it doesn't fit anymore and then transfer Ollie to a bed so that the baby can have the cot in the same room.

Is it totally nuts to think that I can put a 5ish month old in with a 23ish month old??
