I always heard that sleep begets sleep, so in essence the better she sleeps during the day, the better she will sleep at night.

I do think they go thru stages, my boy isn't the best sleeper, but he does swing from sleeping really well (8-7), to waking in the night. Its sounds like you need to train her to go back to sleep, maybe by just ignoring her and leaving her in her cot until 6.

    Author: SophiasMummy
Subject: 27567
Posted: 19 July 2009 at 8:48am

Sophia is nearly 9 months old and used to sleep 7 till 7, we were very lucky. But about a month ago this started getting ealier, probably due to getting 4 teeth and a cold and a cough, during this time she also started sleeping more during the day, she has never been a big day sleeper before! About a week ago I relised maybe she was having to much sleep during the day so it was affecting her night sleeping. Her rountine is usually:

Wake 5-6, get up at 7
Breakfast 7.30
Milk 9.30
Bed 10 till 12
Lunch 12.30
Milk 2.30
Bed 3.15ish till 4.30 (if not awake I wake her at 4.30)
Dinner 5
Bath at 6
Milk 6.40
Bed 7

Is this to much sleep during the day, has this happened to anyone else, is it just a stage?? I would be more than happy if it just went back to waking sometime after 6. I just can't stand it when there is a 5 on the clock!! Sorry for the ramble!
