Thats good It really does work, I know when Im sick I always sleep with a huge pillow so Im more upright.

Oh poor bubbas with asthma I have it too so of course there's a higher chance that Chelsea will get it (still hope it's just a cold though!)

Good idea re saline, now her nose is stuffy instead of runny so will get some tomorrow!

Sheza, she's in a cot now, have gone and put some books under the back legs, hope it helps her! Yep, Jake did it too when sick ... and now he has been diagnosed with asthma. they wouldn't diagnose it last winter as lots of bubs get bronchiolitis etc due to their wind pipes being so small. But if they get to 2 and an inhaler is the only thing stopping the coughing, then its asthma. He only gets it when sick though, so chances of growing out of it are high. Wow scary that coughing is a sign of asthma! Eva coughs quite a bit even though she isn't sick, I thought it might be her reflux medication that was making her cough.... Caden coughs in his sleep when he has the snuffles, like melnel said, its the mucus running down the back of their throats causing them to cough.
Is she in a cot or bassinett? If she is in a cot you could elevate the head part so she is a little more upright, thats what we do. You could elevate it a little bit if she is in the bassinett as well.

Ella did this also - and coughed so badly whenever she was teething...we always knew when she was teething because of the cough!

She does it still on some of the colder air nights and I will sometimes run the gas hot shower in her ensuite to fill the air with moisture...or you could buy one of the machines that does it...I tell you that works a treat!

The cough could be caused by the mucus running down her throat Rach. Perhaps try some saline drops to help ease the congestion.

Aoife gets a cough whenever she has a cold. The doc suggested we give her pamol to help her sleep, which works.
We've only needed to give her AntiBs once and that was a precaution rather than a full blown chest infection.

Oh I hope it isn't a sign of asthma. My bubs has already had a few colds, and the last two she has coughed in her sleep.. and it has actually woken her up, grrr.

My Dr said that if she is happy enough and still feeding well then she should be fine.
We used Baby Vicks (from 6 months) and she slept on a firm pillow in her safety sleep, and used saline nasal spray before feeding.

Hi, my baby has had a snuffly nose the last few days, but today she's started coughing too. She doesn't seem to have a temperature and seems happy enough, but she went to bed 30mins ago, and we keep hearing her coughing, but when we check on her she's asleep! She coughs three or four times every few mins. Is it normal for a baby with a cold to cough in their sleep? (She caught the cold off me, except I haven't had a cough at all!)
