I feel really good knowing that she's going to come back and visit. I ended up just writing what I was thinking on the card so hopefully it made sense. I think its hard for them to say goodbye too.
I know weegee, she's just amazing. Its going to be great keeping in touch with her, although I laughed when she said I can call her anytime about anything. I won't be harrassing her with random things but it was really nice to know that she'll still be there if you know what I mean.
Midwifery must be one of the hardest, most rewarding occupations there is.

We had a traumatic birth (I nearly died) and my midwife is the most amazing woman in the world, I cannot begin to try to say how much we owe her. She delivered both of our children and we are having no more. I got upset thinking of saying goodbye and when the time came to write her card i was crying just doing that! My DH thought I was mad. Just say the things you want to say and go with the moment, she will know

A similar thing happened to me - the midwife at the birth was actually the back-up and my other midwife took over postnatal care about 3 weeks post-birth. I'd developed a special bond with the back-up and felt stupidly disappointed when the other midwife returned from holiday . Great midwives are such wonderful people aye? I'm sure your midwife will be sad to say goodbye to you too. I knew that she would be going (she's moving) but wasn't too phased before. I always thought she was really cool but can't believe just how much that midwife/client relationship changes as soon as this little person arrives. My little man will be 9 days old tomorrow so we haven't had long together but my MW has been a rock, absolutely amazing and I love her to bits.
How do I say goodbye to her without falling apart?? I know her backup (who is lovely and was at the birth too) will do a great job of finishing our postnatal care but I'm so not ready to say goodbye.
I have a present for her that I think she'll love but don't know how to put my thoughts into words on the card. I'm rambling and having a blue moment while I try to do this. I don't even know why I'm writing this, I don't know what I expect people to reply lol
Thanks for reading if you still are.
