My GP was fantastic about it when I finally went in and saw him. As he knew the family situation he knew what was happening and was a little angry at me for taking that long to go in and see him. After I did and after a few weeks in the anti-d's I was back happy as.

Having the action plan and the help of my GP I recovered much quicker. Def talk with your MW so you can start the action plan straight away after you get your BFP.

I waited until I was fully better, my pnd was severe- ending up on phych ward once when Isla was 16 months old, although now matter how bad your experince was Im sure we are all scared of things getting like they were again.
It was important to me that I felt completely normal again for a while before ttc. I returned to part time work the begnning of this year, and finally felt like I was happy with my life again, and coping as I would have with everyday life before the pnd.

The second month into ttc i was really stressing about how I would cope, but talking about it helped and doing some planning about how things are gonna be better, what i can put in place etc to help.
I am now 11 weeks preg and are the happiest Ive been since before I had Isla. Im aware of my triggers- things that make me feel stressed/down and have talking about it all with my midwife before even meeting her cos it still makes me cry thinking about how bad my life was at my worst point.

I am positive that things arent gonna be like they were last time because dh and I are now aware of the signs/symptoms and my triggers.

I am going to get a cleaner because it really stresses me out when I feel like I am not keeping up with the hosue work. I know I cant keep up with it and look after
Isla and a newborn, but it will make me feel better knowing that at least the basics are done each week.
Im buyig an electric breast pump so that I can take Isla out to the supermarket or park or somewhere and leave baby for liek a hr a week, and also so hopefully I can get dh to do some of the late evening feeds so that I can have alonger stretch of sleep some nights as sleep deprivation is a major trigger for me.

I've been in touch with my dr since the day after finding out to discuss taking meds during the pregnancy. I also recently contacted MMH about things I can do to try and prevent/reduce such a relapse/flair-up.

I think this time around DH will be more aware of what to look out for, my plunket nurse is aware of history so will also be on the look out. I've been suggested to make sure I ask for help if needed and if it gets offered to make sure I take it.

Like Brenna said it's scary but putting plans into place can help with the confidence, and being more aware I think can help too.

I'm on ADs still and will be staying on them during this pregnancy but I'm interested in peoples answers. Theres a fair bit of natural stuff out there that could help other than diet and rest. St Johns Wort maybe? Def talk to your doc like Brenna said.

Good luck xox

I was the same as you, so much so that it dictated when we TTC cause it took me so long to feel ready.
My plan this time is to talk to my MW about how I feel and insist on extra support if I feel like I did last time. Last tiem I told no one cause I thought it was normal. I only 'realised' it was PND when I ended up in tears at my GPs late last year when she mentioned TTC for #2. I then told her how I was feeling and she said that I had PND and that this time I needed to talk about it and have strategies in place. At the moment I'm feeling prretty positive as I've managed to organise a fair bit of help for about the 1st 6 weeks.

I'd suggest talking to your GP now as they'll be able to keep an eye on how things are going.

Hugs!!!! It sure is scary!
