Jakes beein interested in the toilet for ages now. We got him a potty after he couldn't get into the toilet (we keep the door closed) during bare bum time and he pood in DPs shoe instead lol when he saw the potty a day or so later he sat on it straight away and promptly did a big wee and #2. Its been abit sporadic, he'd also say he needed to go toilet but not do anything one he was on there, but this morning he desperately pulled at his pjs and night nappy and when I took them off he raced to the potty and did a wee. I did a big song and dance and gave him a lolly and he wanted to sit on it for the rest of the morning lol I'd give TT a go with Tom specially since hes holding on. Brae was 25mnths dry day & night & no 2's
We did TT during the summer that Brae turned 2 & I just let him run round in undies. They seem to be less comfy when wet/dirty. With me asking him every hour if he needed to go for the first few days, a few smarties, a few accidents, he was was onto it within a week .
Kalz well, hmmm....he knows hes done poos, will take the nap off if he's done 1, come show me & say yuck! So who knows with that child


Eta - WE got our potty step stool & toilet seat all in 1 from the warehouse

my girl says poos and points to her nappy and she has started to say toydet (toilet) but I put her on and she does nothing..arghh so its like she knows she needs to go but gets "stage fright" when I put her on although she can climb on the toilet.

Sam is nowhere near ready.   He is a very heavy overnight wetter and at least once a week has soaked right through his pyjamas.   He often wakes with a dirty nappy and never tells me before he does poos.   He knows how to force farts though!    He thinks that is hilarious!

Dry here at 18 months in the day and she's now dry at night too.

Caitlin instigated it by refusing to wear a nappy (major wobbly at change times!!!) so I bought her knickers, talked to her about it "big girls knickers" and we've never looked back.
We had a potty in almost every room (2-3), didn't worry about the toilet until a bit later and spent the first week or so at home as it was over the Christmas holidays.
For the night time training I just asked her if she wanted to go to bed in her knickers, she said yes and we packed up the nappies together and put them in the loft. She still has the odd accident but she's not even 3 so I let it fly.

My main piece of advice is to remain positive throughout the whole thing, don't make accidents "dirty" just explain about cleaning up and leave it as that. Even to this day I've never told C off for having an accident in her pants

two of my good friends has girls the same age as Amy and they both had their DD out of nappies at 18mo. Both are now dry at night too.

Tom has has some success in the potty....but I am a little half arsed at this and probably need to commit to the task at hand....maybe stay home for a few days etc.

We have a basic potty and he will sit on it and do the "potty puzzle" (his fav jigsaw....by "doing it" I mean that I do it and he just picks up each piece ) I was wondering about getting a seat for the toilet and a step.....where do I find these?

Maya was 22 mths, but she tted herself - literally woke up one morning and took her nappy off and sat on the toilet, and that was that.

We TT at 18 months and it only took a few weeks. Have you got a potty? We just used to leave it in the lounge and Char loved it. We did do it over summer though so it was a bit warmer and we left her bottom naked for a lot of the day. She was so ready though, probably why it was easy. Tom is starting to hold his wees and the let go all at once   Its totally overwhelming his nappies (even sposies) and we are going through so many clothing changes each day......I am wondering if undieswould actually be less washing?
