    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=21177">Basil_brush</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 26375<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 14 May 2009 at 10:10pm<br /><br />For the fabric - I have got a few of the baby cheeks inserts which are 80% polyester, 20% polyamide - I bought a pack of 6 nappies made of this fabric from Baby City for $35 and used the original baby cheeks inserts as patterns to make heaps more inserts out of them, much cheaper than buying the actual thing and exactly the same fabric. You can probably buy the fabric even cheaper by the metre from a fabric shop? <br /><br />I have not used bamboo but have been told by a mum who had both that she struggled with the bamboo because it's fantastic absorbancy made them take twice or 3 times as long to dry.  For what it's worth mine have always dried in less than a day, then i put them in the hot water cupboard overnight. ]]>

I have just made some hemp/microfibre trifold combos but am yet to use them. I found it great to have a large supply of inserts as they can take a while to dry in winter but the pockets dry pretty quickly so with extra inserts I can re-use the pockets alot faster. I think I have about 13 pockets and must have about 35+ inserts of a variety of materials]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19393">MrsMojo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 26375<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 07 May 2009 at 10:53am<br /><br /><P>I'm just about to order the fabric I need to make trifold inserts to go with the nappies I made.&nbsp; How many inserts do you think I'll need?</P><P>I have 150+ disposable nappies so he should be about 1 month old before he moves into his cloth nappies so I'm guessing about 8 changes per day.&nbsp;&nbsp;So a stock of 20 inserts should do the trick (1/2 in use and 1/2 in the wash - if I do run out I still have dozens of flats which we used for Michaela).</P><P>Also what's your preferred fabric for the absorbent layers?&nbsp; I'm leaning towards bamboo fleece&nbsp;but I have no experience with MCNs as Michaela was in old-style flats with and overnap.</P><P>Your input is very much appreciated <IMG src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0"></P>]]>
