I include siblings if its a more laid back low cost type of party (like at home) but if I'm paying per child its strictly invitation only. However parties that only the 'friend' is invited to are often drop off affairs so think about how you will cope with the extra drops offs. The older kids will get invited to parties that the younger ones can't go to and I think that every parent with more than one child understands this dilema. I think what you have suggested is totally fair. we have this problem every year and for me it depends on how close the friends are. We have a few preschool friends where they have either an older or younger sibling at the preschool who might play with our other child. This year Kobe invited his preschool friends and there were at least two that had siblings in the preschool with Addison but I only invited the child that Kobe plays with. But if it was a family friend and we know them all really well then i would be inviting all the kids. Hi there .... if you're having a b'day party for a 2 year old, at a venue where you are spending about $20 per child and there is a limit on numbers .... should you feel obliged to invite older siblings of the childs friends? If they are only a little older, would it be rude not to invite them? Is it rude to say older children can come but won't be included at the table (but you are welcome to purchase them food seperately and they can play) if they are quite a few years older?
