Hi JHS

Just in case you don't know already, there is a miscarriage support group in Wellington which meets once a month in Lyall Bay. I had 3 mc in 2008 also and have been going to the group since December. I have been finding it really helpful because recurrent miscarriage can be quite isolating and it is great to have a group of people that understand what its like. I didn't bother with the HCG in the end because I started spotting. Sigh...
Oh well another month goes past.

Actually I heard that going back on the pill for one month (period to period) kickstarts your body. I was talking to someone I knew who knew someone (y'know how it goes ) that went back on the pill for a month after trying for almost 4 years and bang she got preggers on the next cycle!

I agree Kel (if the pill doesn't help) alternative methods can make all the difference. I'll def be looking into Blackmores PCIP!!

JHS I agree its cool (in the wrong kinda way) to meet you too Jake will be 2 in July so I'm not stressing about it too much as yet. We're officially TTC in November (there isn't a emoticon on here that can express my excitement lol) so baby #2 will hopefully come along just after Jakes 3rd bday! Wouldn't want a bigger age gap than that though so will be getting a full check up and tests in September. Am spending the time in between working on our lifestyle (check Babes Fantastic Tips thread under General Chat we've gone completely natural!) and creating as stressfree environment as possible. I'm on supplements already and we're taking it one step at a time.

Omigosh I'm so crossing everything for you too!!!!!! JHS, it's definitely worth a go seeking out alternative methods.

I reckon I was like you, could get preg but couldn't hold it. I got put on minerals "Blackmores PCIP" to be specific right when I got my final straw AF where I threw my hands up & said I can't do this & what do you know...I was preg! We had been trying for over a year to get preg & before that had been half heartly trying. sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. I was a bit the same, conceived straight away both times but lost the second pregnancy and couldnt get pregnant again but then decided to go back on the pill and then first month we stopped it along came Addison. Hi Babe,
It is very cool (in a wrong kind of way) to meet someone in the same situation as us!. Dylan was 2 in Feb and I just think the age gap is getting bigger all the time between him and the next one. Have even been thinking about surrogacy. Have you done tests?
I have been taking B6 since the 2nd MC after I read about it on the internet. It took me from 8 day luteal phase out to 10 - but still no luck carrying past 9 weeks.
AF was due yesterday (10 days post ov) though so will do a HCG test tomorrow.

Ooh I knew someone who had a Luteal Phase Defect. She started taking B vitamins (specially B6 I think) and got preggers within 6 weeks! They were using Clomid and everything and nothing worked until she started taking the B's.
I'm kinda in the same boat as you - had a beautiful baby boy and 3-4 mc's since we aren't TTC yet (I know - conceived 3-4 times and we aren't trying hmmm...) and I'm trying not to worry but I've begun taking B vitamins for later in the year when we DO want to TTC #2. She is really awesome but think she may have just gone on maternity leave so has a locum filling in for her. Thanks for the hugs guys. I am going through a specialist so had all the tests done after the second MC. They think I have a Luteal Phase Defect, because there are only 8 days between when I ovulate and AF. This is caused by low progesterone, so they gave me pills with the last two pregnancies which didnt help. They now have me on Clomid as well to stimulate better quality ovulation, but as we arent conceiving I decided to come off that this month and see what happens. I am just gutted, this has never been a problem for me - making the baby is the part we are really good at so im sure something must be wrong. If I have retained products from the last MC I wouldnt be having regular cycles or ovulating though would I?
The acupuncture thing sounds worth a shot - I have never heard of holding techniques before.

You're right - it isn't fair! One thing I learnt after our wait and MC is that this whole TTC thing isn't fair - there are loads of women out there who don't even want babies who get them - where people who are just busting to be parents (and damned fine parents) have to wait.
I can't imagine the pain of going through 3 MCs - just one was heartbreaking enough.

Have you been referred to the recurrent MC people at the hositpal? Im hoping that after 3 MC's they are looking into this for you, but also some women conceive their first child easily and then it takes a while to conceive the next, sometimes up to a year or more.
I took misoprostyl for retained products after a D&C, the pills didnt work and i ended up having to get a 2nd D&C. I dont think that they damage your lining, many of the girls on here have had those pills.

Anyway keep your head high, have you thought about alternative medicines to help? I started getting accupunture to sort out my unusally long cycles and within 2 months i was pregnant. They also can do "holding" techniques which are meant to boast your progesterone and help your womb hold on and make a healthy baby. Seemed to have worked for us. Well after one perfect child and three consecutive MC (LPD) it doesnt seem fair that we now are having trouble concieving. We have always gotten pregnant first try - four times now, andI am frustrated that my specialist is giving me the '4 months is not a long time some couples take ages to concieve' line. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ME! Why don't Doctors ever believe that we know our own bodies and what is normal for us.
I had medical management of the last MC which is the first time as the previous two occurred naturally. The hospital (mistakenly) thought there were still products inside and admitted me pumping me full of Misoprostyl ever four hours before finally realising nothing else was going to come up. I am now worried that that may have damaged my lining in some way and now we are conceiving but not implanting. I know I am ovulating because we use the testers.
It has now been 6 months since the last MC and who knows how long it will take us to get preg again, and then when we do the changes of going to term arent high. My is this happening to us?
