I agree with Linzy! I had Mel (im not sure if she is still there) but OMG they were THE most beautiful woman I have ever met, so helpful and caring! We're from Titirangi too. We had our Baby on the 4th March and had Laurie Herbert as our MW. She was fab. Let me know if you want her details.

Hi Tracey, I'm new to this site too and also in Titirangi :-) My baby was born on the 1st of March, my midwife was Gill Macgregor. If for any reason you are wanting to birth at Auckland Hospital instead of Waitakere I would HIGHLY recommend her

Cathy McCormick is looking after me now (doing my home visits), she's from Cornwallis and is awesome too. Let me know if you would like either of their contact details

My mw was Gail Kiss based in Henderson (you see her for antenatal appts in James Laurie St). She was fabulous. She delivers at Waitak. If you want her number PM me.

MM were good.

Things I didn't ask and wasn't told -
- who to contact if I was concerned (I had an 'emergency' number but my concerns weren't necessarily what I would call an emergency)
- how their cover system works - do they have a roster for who will deliver or is it always your MW?
- who does the follow-up

I'm a newbie to the site and have just found out Im 8 weeks pregnant. My doctor has recomended I find a midwife as soon as possible as the good ones get booked up quickly. I just rang one place and made an appointment to meet someone on Tuesday but doctor suggested meeting a few to find someone you 'click with' . If you can recommend anyone that would be great as don't want to go on Tuesday and feel presurred into saying yes incase I'm not sure if that makes sense :-) Thanks and look forward to being part of this site it looks like I will be on here a lot .. ha ha. I live near Titirangi so anyone out this way.
