They are really handy, listing what foods are appropriate to introduce at what age. Your Plunket nurse should have them.</P><P align=left>Also, there is a great little recipe&nbsp;book by Alison and Simon Holst called "Baby food and beyond" - bought ours for $5 off TM ... has great explanations of how to prepare foods etc and loads of ideas to try <IMG src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0">.</P>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=21239">FreeSpirit</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 24934<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 02 March 2009 at 9:08pm<br /><br />Is Ava already on solids or just beginning? <br /><br />If she's just beginning, rice cereal (eg farex)is normally the first food.Then afte a few days of that  I'd boil up some pumpkin or kumara or carrot or pear or apple and push it through a sieve so it's very fine, if you do ots you'll want some clean ice cube trays to freeze it in. just heat and serve up mixed with a little of what she's already having so it's not to strong.<br /><br />If you want to give her broccoli or cauliflower, just steam or boil and mash roughly.<br /><br />Try to get over the liquid food stage fairly quick, we're stuck on mashed or big suckable bits at the moment. Oh, and don't  worry i she gags on anything, it's normal.]]>

I found that Dom wasn't keen on broc and cauli by themselves so I used to mix it with other veges like pumpkin or kumara.<br />We have never used follow on formula, Just weaning from first formula to cows milk now.]]>
