I read to stay away from the BRAT foods - Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast. Apple sauce is BAD for constipation but Apple JUICE is good for getting rid of constipation.<br /><br />Ive been giving Ava extra water with some prune juice (Sunsweet brand, doesnt have anything added to it) and she has been eating pears<br /><br />BTW there is nothing wrong with giving him solids after 4 months if he is showing all of the signs. Even the Watties jars of food say 4-6 months and I have read that if you wait until 6 months it increases fussiness with food and makes it harder for them to get used to textures. He'll be fine :) ]]>

Sticking with fruit for now. <br /><br />Its so hard to know, he was showing all the signs for solids, drinking so much milk etc....]]>

Basically boiled up some prunes till nice and soft, then pushed them through a strainer to get all the juice out. I just give him 3ml in a small syringe a couple of times a day if I think he needs it. He likes it too.]]>

It's amazing the difference an extra drink makes. And yep, prune juice can be added to it (makes it sweet so they like the taste, and we all know what prune juice does anyway!).
