They are fantastic and really easy for him to walk in. I have found hoof shoes good for Charlotte also. You can order online or there may be a stockist near you so you can try them on. They do red ones aswell.

Oh and just looked they do pink as well. They also have some pretty cute other girls shoes too!

In wellington they have them at Infantesimal and Babystar going by the stockists on their website.

IMO while well-fitting shoes are important at any age, kids' feet grow so quickly that you might as well have a little faith in yourself and try sizing them yourself. All you need are shoes that will stay on without flopping, have 5-10mm at the toes for swelling/growth (without tripping them up), and a sole so soft that it could bend in half if you wanted it to. there is also a really good shop in Kilbirnie on the main street, can't remember the name of that tho. Also try Hoofs, there sizing seems to fit Fay OK WWW. hoofs.co.nz

Bays Shoes in Kilbirnie is really great for getting little feet properly measured for the first time. The older man who works there (bald, 45ish) is the owner and is great with little kids.

Harry is a 5 (says 15 - 18 months on the shoes packaging), and they won't last him too much longer. He has gigantic feet. Sounds like your boy Saffron - tall boy with big feet!

When Dom went into shoes I went to one of those ridiculously expensive baby shoe shops, got his feet properly measured, took all their great advice and then went searching around the baby stores, warehouse, and number one shoe warehouse. Found heaps of great shoes for half the price and less than the expensive shops. We got most of Daniels previous shoes from the warehouse but MIL took Daniel to hannahs one day while she had him and got him some shoes which have been awesome. Thanks for the suggestions! Liz, those Fisher price shoes are awesome alright. I bought some before Xmas and Aoife is already outgrown them as she had an impressive growth spurt over Xmas.

I'm pretty sure Eimear is still a size 2 but would prefer to go to a shop to get them fitted rather than me playing the guessing game

I've heard i-walks are very good, but they're also rather expensive.

My sister found these shoes that are very similar to i-walks, but a lot cheaper - fisher price shoes at K-mart. They have durable but very flexible soles. I find that although my boy is a really good walker now and walks everywhere (and on grass and stuff) he can't handle soles that are too thick and not bendy yet just. I guess this goes in this section rather than 'first baby'

I want to buy the girls proper shoes for when outside but have no idea where to start.
Eimear is now walking solidly for 3 weeks and Aoife is still a bit wobbly but walking is definitely her preferred mode of transport

What are the good brands and where in Wellington can I go to get their feet measured?

Do I go to a shoe shop or somewhere like Babystar / Baby Factory?

Any help would be appreciated as what I'm used to is going into a shoe shop, getting measured (length & width) for shoes and coming out with Clarks.
