My girl Esme had a hernia op at around 6 weeks as well. We didn't give her anything except some pamol but I have to admit she was back to her normal self very quickly. The only other thing we gave her was some rescue remedy on her forehead to calm her down the next day. Otherwise it didn't seem to worry her in the slightest.
