Well this morning he woke up after a 12 hour sleep and his nappy was dry. He walked down the hallway pointed to the toilet door and said Wees.

So put him on the toilet and he did wees!!!

Wow so proud ! His first wee on the loo and he held it all night. We have been letting Luke take the lead and sit on the loo when ever he wants. No pressure is the way to go.

We will take it slow it's good that he sits on the loo and is not scared.

I'd say go for it too. Jake has just started telling me before he does poos, so I'm about to start trying.

I'd give it a go but keep it all relaxed and low key , no pressure approach, my mum started pushing me to do ben from 18 months and the pressure really put him back...we had to stop all together until a month ago

Hes 3 in late May and only the last couple of days has totally got it especially for poo's, so all kids are different but I think the pressure definately slowed him down

Dominic started showing exactly the same behaviour a few months a go and we just put him on the toilet when he wants to go. He likes to flush the toilet and wash his hands as much as anything else but he is getting the idea. The main thing is not to put any pressure on it.

We find that if Leah has no pants on she has no accidents at all but if she is wearing knickers she uses them like anappy. So maybe let him run around with no pants and have the potty right there for him. We have ours in the lounge so when i'm feeding she can go without my help.

I would definitely give it a go. Ella has started doing some of the same things and then a couple of weeks ago surprised me by going 'wee pss pss' while I was changing her nappy so I asked if she wanted to sit on the potty.....she sat on it and I went to the other room to get rid of her nappy and came back and she had done a wee in the potty Now I just ask her every now and then if she wants to do a wee and if she says yes then we go and sit on the potty and see what happens (most of time nothing, but hey it's a start).

I figure while it is nice and hot it's a good time to start and they can spend a lot of time without a nappy on.

I would go for it, but without too much pressure in it. My boy was exactly the same, I just let him use the potty and toilet at home at at my mums but never when we were out for quite a while. Well i'm not sure if Luke is ready he is only
22 months old BUT:

Points to his nappy and says wees when doing a wee or poo check and there is always both or one there.

Knows what the toilet is for and that wees go in there.

knows where wees come out of . when in the bath does one and points to it saying wees.

sits on the loo no probs.

So is it just novelty or is he ready ????
