My wee girl wasn't at all keen on food until about 8 months so I know what ya mean - when she started eating properly she naturally cut down on the breastfeeding (I also started a little formula as she wasn't sleeping well)... by start of ten months she was all about the food and totally over me feeding her... which was a little hard but it's a few weeks later and I'm over it too
... and yep I'm hoping for a small age gap too for the same reason (although when I said trying for baby #2 it's really #3 I just don't consider my 12 year old a baby - couldn't get much bigger gap there ...
Anyway all the best... hope it happens soon

But I would love to have kids close in age. My sister and I are only 15 months apart and we are best friends so I would love that for my babies too. I am not ready to stop b'feeding - especially since my little man is not interested in food at all! Let me know how you get on =0)
weegee - thanks for the wikipedia link. I am going back to work (part-time) in January so that will give me and bubs some time apart. I hope The Sleep Store can suggest how to stop him from scratching and waking at night! I would love him to go back to sleeping at night!!!

The main things were feeding at least once every 4 hours during the day and every 6 hours at night, and apparently you're more likely to remain infertile if you sleep in the same room as your baby, and aren't separated from them for more than 3 hours per day. Here's the wikipedia page on it.

So I guess if you want fertility to return you need to try to space out the feeds a bit longer, and work on getting bubs to sleep through without a feed (try The Sleepstore for info on that), and maybe see if you can take a break from bubs during the day!

I was breastfeeding until two weeks ago and have only had two periods since baby #1 was born - despite trying when I thought was the right time have had no luck at all :-( ... I am hoping now that I have finished breastfeeding it'll happen soon... However, I have friends who have gotten preg (by accident) while fully breatsfeeding so it does happen... I think if you are only doing one feed your fertitility should return but it so different for everyone from what Ive read! I guess it's a time thing... but it sucks waiting eh :-)

I am breast-feeding, bubba was sleeping through but now has terribly itchy eczema which wakes him up in the night so i feed him once to help him (and us!) back to sleep.
Any advice on how to get #2 cooking without stopping breast-feeding?
