Once you get pg with #2 you'll be able to ask your mw all those questions and make a fully informed birth plan together. Even if you go for a hospital water birth it could still be worth at least asking around a couple of HB midwives and seeing what their strategies are?]]>

Even tho we knew the reason why I haemorrhaged (multiple birth, big placenta) I still wasn't allowed to birth at Birthcare with my next baby so I'm guessing a homebirth would have been a no-no too had I wanted one. In hindsight I'm glad I was at the hospital as lil miss had her cord very tightly round her neck and it needed to be cut before she could be delivered, and also coz I did have another small haemorrhage.<br /><br />I'd have a chat to your midwife about it tho, depending on what the circumstances were with your first birth it might still be an option.]]>

I h'ed with baby #1 but then needed a c/s (it was a mid-labour h not post-labour) so I wasn't allowed a home birth for baby #2 - on a/c of the c/s though.]]>

We're planning on having another baby next year & I'm seriously thinking I'd like to have a home birth. But i lost 2 litres of blood when i had my baby.
