He used to get tummy-aches at night, really windy (farty) during the day and horrific diarrhoea. He was just miserable. He couldnt even handle whole-milk in cooking either. I had him on whole-milk formula and so we figured it wasnt lactose-intolerant but intolerant to the fat content in the blue-top milk. We put him onto skim milk and he was back to normal almost instantly which proved our theory. (whole-milk formula is lower in fat content than normal blue-top milk and has a similar fat content to skim milk)

Anyway, we started giving him the skim milk and now, 6 months later, he has grown out of the problem and is back having normal blue-top whole milk all the time.

I suggest if she is okay on a whole-milk formula, try skim milk and see if it helps.

I would take her to the doc and have her ears/general health checked. If all clear then perhaps go back to giving some formula so that she is weaned onto the milk over a week or so as that might be easier on her tum.

400ml sounds about right to me as well, Spencer is only drinking about 300ml of formula (he's on a specialist one cos he's allergic to diary) and his paed has just changed him to the toddler one because he isn't drinking much, granted he doesn't have any cheese or yoghurt etc so that would probably make a difference too but still 400ml doesn't sound like too much.

I would go back to the old way for a couple of days to see if that remedies the problem and then reintroduce the new way. Obviously if you notice the same change again then it's the milk.

You could drop some of her milk drinking though, I don't think it's too much but it is at least plenty. I would give her a bottle of water in the morning (because she doesn't need to fill up, she's about to have breakfast: weetbix and milk) and a bottle of cows milk at night.

I would suggest stopping cows milk for a while and if poss going back to what you used to do? formula? Maybe wait a few days/week until she over better and then maybe try introducing it again slowly and see what happens.

Does she eat alot of yoghurt, cheese etc? I was told by Plunket that it didn't matter if Jack didn't drink alot of milk as he already got alot of the nutrients in the yoghurt, cheese, milk with cereal etc.

Good luck
