Well, I'm signed up to see an acupuncturist! yes we are, rebekah at mother -well is fanastic.
I think they will have a stand at the parent and child show too.
I started seeing her after i had concieved luke for pregancy care and because i was getting heaps of headaches. She was excellent. She also diganosed Luke's dairy allergy.

My naturopath stuff involved allergy testing, cutting out anything I showed as intolerant to, doing a detox, taking herbs and supplements. I was told I'd have more energy, more balanced hormones etc but didn't feel any different. Milo - sounds like we're seeing the same people. I'm seeing Rebekah Paddy at Mother-Well in Mt Eden and Basia Smith at Titirangi Natural Health for my acupuncture. I highly recommend them both, both very lovely, compassionate ladies

My last session with Rebekah cost $85 for an initial consultation, I think it will go down to $65 from now on and the herbs were another $25 I think (taste like stagnant pond water but if it work I'll do anything lol), Basia charges $75. I think these are fairly reasonable costs considering the amount of time they spend with you and specialists charge $100+

Hey!
I totally recommend acupuncture!
After my m/c last April, my cycles were getting a bit screwed up and I wasn't concieving, even though I was charting and doing everything I should've been.
I went every couple of weeks and within a month or two, my cycle length had dropped and was a lot better. I also firmly believe that it helped with conception.
I went a few times up until my 12w scan after falling pregnant to have some 'baby wellbeing' treatments and then again at 24w for a mid-pregnancy session and actually have just been today at 37w for pre-birth treatment and will go once a week for the next 2 weeks too.
My husband also totally rates acupuncture as he had it done on an old injury a few years ago and acupunture was the only thing that helped it!

Before my first pregnancy, I had acupuncture to get my body ready for a baby (making sure I was ovulating and getting my hormons balanced).

I feel pregnant after only three months of trying, but probably had about 4 months of acupuncture (I'm pretty sure I wasn't going to the acupuncuturist every week, maybe every 2 - 3 weeks, or around the time I should/was ovulating).

I would certainly recommend acupuncture.

Am currently using naturopathy to get my cycles sorted in preparation for TTC in Dec. I have PCOS and found a wicked lady that deal with woman and fertility type issues. Thsi is only my first month so no major changes yet but fingers crossed.

Th stuff I have to drink is foul and is rather expensive. I had about 4 or 5 sessions of acupuncture after I lost my daughter to try and regulate my cycles (really screwed up!) Thinking about it now, we must have conceived this baby about the time of my last acupuncture appointment. I found it to be very relaxing, at the very least!!

I tired seeing a naturopath but it didn't seem to do a thing. In the end we went through fertility associates for "unexplained infertility" that has since come right. i'm not sure what part of the country you are in... But in Auckland, Mt eden there is an excellent naturopath who specialises in women, mothers, babies. She's really good and would recommend seeing her. Pm me for more info.

It depends on what aspect of conception you need support/ help with I know that naturopaths look at everything, the holisitic picture and can look at both you and your partner.

I still go to her for Luke and find using natural products so benefical. We also didn't use "chemical" drugs to conceive. I can't say I have ever used either for TTC, but I fully support what Toni said re holistic therapies and the body ultimately working to fix itself - this takes a bit longer.

I love my naturopath though - she is awesome! I haven't tried either, but I'd also love to know what other people thought as have been thinking about both of those this month too.

Has anyone tried either acupuncture or naturopathy for conception?

I'm looking into trying one of the other, but not sure which to pick. Some of the information about naturopathy talks about egg preparation and it taking 3 months or so to make changes, whereas acupuncture has really good stats to back it up, but it kinda freaks me out to have someone working on my stomach!
