Hi rachb, the menevit did make some improvements, but not enough in our situation.  It depends on how bad the sperm issues are with your DH, but it is something definitely worth trying.

As for Elevit, I took this  all through my IVF treatment and for the first 14 weeks of pregnancy, but after that I started to get bad constipation and tummy aches, and my MW advised that I come off it.  Due to the high doseage of iron in it, it sometimes can have this effect on pregnant people - and the fact that I have more than enough iron in my system just meant I was overdosing on it!

Hi troubleo6, wow Medicare dish out rebates for IVF - that's great.  Nothing like that over here unfortunately!  I wish that our private medical insurance had covered it, but nothing like that in NZ either .  I'm originally from the UK, and I know that they have medical insurance that will cover IVF!  We had no choice but to dig deep into our pockets as we could not wait for the publicly funded cycle, as it's approx a 18 mth wait.  I turned 38 recently, and I too am soooo glad that we had lots of tests done sooner rather than later - you can't hang around when you get to our age gal

As for your question on cutting back on caffeine and alcohol, I would defo do both of these, I think the healthier you are, the more chance your body has of responding - plus it doesn't hurt to give it a go either - good luck my love, and keep us updated x

Hi Hoping, no, you haven't corresponded with me before - I know what you mean about keeping up with names, I get confused myself sometimes .  Yes, we did IVF with ICSI, only one of our little embies survived, so we feel very fortunate that it was successful.  Good luck with your journey flower - I do occasionally check out the IVF forum so I shall watch out for you  xx

Hi trouble06, good luck with your appt with the fertility specialist - I'm sure they will paint a clearer picture for you and give you some options.  My DH has low motility issues, so we were advised to go for IVF treatment, and luckily first time round I got pregnant, so I am a success story and I hope that inspires you for your journey.  Has your DH been taking Menevit at all, usually this is something that the fertility specialists like them to do for 3 months and then to get tested again?  Even tho this did improve DH's sperm motility, it was still not enough to get pregnant sadly.  Look forward to following your progress hun

Caronz - what a lovely success story, it's always an inspiration for these lovely ladies on this forum and also shows them, that even if they fail to get pregnant with their DH's sperm, there is always an alternative of a donor.  You have a little son - how marvellous, makes it all feel worth it when you get a little bundle of joy at the end doesn't it . I'm sure that you're little boy and DH will have as close a bond as any biological parent as it's more about the upbringing and the love that you can bring to your child, which it seems you both have an abundance of.   I wish you every luck on your next IVF cycle, and look forward to hearing about your next BFP very soon.  Take care xxxxx

But I can agree with the duromine, it is really good to help losing weight. I had a huge water retention problem and my dr put me on this for a month and combined with good eating and exercise I lost 10kgs in a month!!! Hope you can get some. It is a class C controlled drug so some drs are reluctant to prescribe it and it is pricey put so worth it.

Dh has a very low sperm count usually around a million but not too sure about motility etc. We had our first IUI in Aug 2002 and I think Dh had about million and got pregnant straight away. We started trying again about June of last year and his sperm count was less than a million after two busted cycles and my body not respsonding to well to clomid we had another IUI done after the new year and Dh's count was only about 300,000 and got pregnant straight away and due to have a little girl next month a month prem because I am high risk due to blood clotting.
