It was great when Sophie was little, and in the baby/toddler mode. She was hidden away, which meant she was nice and snuggly, and also out of the sun. Also, unless you knew she was there, you couldn't really see her, so a lot of people didn't stop and annoy me!! I haven't really used it much in toddler/toddler mode, but it worked well when I did. Yes I guess Sophie is quite low to the ground, but not too low (if that makes sense). I really recommend them, they are a great, sturdy, easy to use buggy!!

    Author: Mazzy
Subject: 18284
Posted: 16 June 2008 at 9:36pm

I think it also depends on what you'll be using it for. I was adamant I didn't want a double stroller, I planned to just use my sling and push DD1 in the stroller or let her walk and put the baby in the stroller.
But now that DD2 is here (she's 4 weeks, DD1 is 21 months) I am finding it difficult and am looking at buying a second hand double stroller off TM, mostly so that I can do bigger walks to the local library etc. and longer walks with other mums - town I will still stick to the original plan as it works for short trips. Main problems I have found are that DD2 doesn't tolerate the sling for too long, the stroller seems to be the one thing DD1 is very posessive of and gets very upset of the baby is in it, and DD1 isn't quite old enough yet to walk very far and is really slow.
If you don't do long walks, you'll be fine without a double, if you like walking most places or go for walks as an outing, you might want to get one.

ETA: I would love to get a moby wrap, haven't tried one yet but think it would be another option and probably better than my sling.

Edited by Mazzy

    Author: Daizy
Subject: 18284
Posted: 16 June 2008 at 5:55pm

When I first found out I was pregnant I went out and brought a pram with a todler seat (it was a good special) But since DD#2 came along I have hardly used it. Its good for just walking in the street but I find it too bulky for the shops. I guess only I use it because I have it and feel that I paid for it I need to get my moneys worth from it. But could definately survive without it. Even though DD#1 is probably slightly older, she still likes her Pram a lot of the time.

What I have found really useful is having a front pack (moby wrap) I just put DD#1 in her stroller and carry the baby handsfree. And when DD#1 decides she wants to walk I lay the stroller back and put the baby in the pram and she holds the side.
I was quite impressed when I told her she had to walk beside the pram and hold on she atcually did it and was quite excited by it. It did take longer but was a lot easier than having the double stroller.

So I dont think your dreaming only wanting a single pram. There are quite a few different ways you can make it work with 2 small children.

Edited by Daizy
