I made it a rule to eat just after Jack had eaten so I would always get food at a time when he was going to be the happiest. Didn't matter if he was crying or anything else, I just did it. That was after my mum had given Jack and I a talking to about his mummy needing food and sleep. If he is crying a lot, you could try a trip to the chiropractor or oestopath?

Also, while he is so little, don't worry about creating "bad habits" - just feed or rock him to sleep - whatever works. You can get him to self settle later on.

**hugs** MissAngel, I dont know what thats like jussstt yet, but I agree with nzpiper, our AN Clas teacher also said that if you feel like your at your wits end, place the baby safeley in the cot or bassinett and walk away for a few mins have a cup of tea, take some deep breaths then go back

Sorry for not replying, I ended up putting him in his room, eating dinner, having a cup of tea and then grabbing him. He cried til after 11pm and then just stopped. I always remember the antenatal teacher saying if you are at the end of your tether, put them in a safe place and walk out to the letterbox and back, then make a cup of tea....then go back and give them cuddles.

God I remember those days......still get them now but feel so much better about dealing with it....confidence does come...sometime.

MissAngel, as you've mentioned you know he's clean, dry, fed etc etc, just tired. Crying for a little while won't hurt Thomas at all but time out will give you time to recompose yourself and get something to eat to refuel. I left my eldest for 20mins once (mw was there and trying to teach me about controlled crying etc) whilst I sat outside, had a cup of tea and got myself together again. But yeah, rocking in buggy can work a treat, as well as front packs and slings which give baby similar sensatin as when in tummy giving you freedom to move and carry on with whatever you want.

has he settled since? do you have a bouncinette chair thingee with a vibration setting? sometimes that helped getting my 2 sprogs to sleep....also pushing the pram over a bump, like when carpet goes to lino....or maybe just lying in bed with him snuggled up beside you

i'd call the mw too and she what she suggests

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! I wouldn't leave him in there for hours on end, but you need a few mins break so fair enough! My gremlins once screamed for 20 hours straight, I ended up completely losing the plot and sitting on the driveway screaming at the top of my lungs, I'm suremy neighbours thought i was a nutcase!

Maybe once you've had a chance to regroup, put him in the buggy and rock him for a while and see if that will get him to sleep. Otherwise, if you've got a front pack or sling that might help.

I've had to put Thomas in our room and close the door cuz he just wont stop crying. Everythings alright, he's not got a temp, he's fed, dry etc but he's doing that thing where when you dont look at them they are quiet, then when you look they start crying etc. Also when he's crying he's not going red in the face like they do when they're actually upset..
Is this the right thing to do? I know he's only little and cuddles dont hurt, but if I dont get to have dinner soon, i'm gonna starve to death (he's been doing this since 1pm this afternoon and HASNT slept) I've been awake since 3am this morning with him, managed to get him to sleep when I missioned out to get groceries, but that's it.
