I have a Moby and a D&Z. Have to say I have had a lot more use from the Moby wrap. They are a bit fiddly to get on but I usually put it on at home and then when I'm out I can easily slip her in. They aren't too complicated when you are used to it theres just a lot of fabric you have to work with. It's really comfy, I almost forget I am carrying her, and Maddi loves it. I can feed with her in it aswell which is handy. I mainly brought it cos DH was able to use it as well but I have ended up usuing it more than him (cos I like it soo much)
The D&Z is very easy to use but I'm still a bit scared of Maddi falling out when I bend to do something, and I'm sure she doesnt look as cozy and comfy in it. The do come in very cool patterns and are very easy to throw in the handbag. I used to use a Mei Tai with Cooper, I got that one from www.junglemama.co.nz

I've just got a sling (very much like the D&Z ones) and used it for the first time today, gosh it's good. I can imagine it being ok for new borns. Just remember that the slings are fitted for YOU not the baby.

I can't speak from experience (yet!) but I've been lent a Moby wrap and I have done a bit of playing around with it and I like it! I always thought they looked fiddly, but in fact you can tie them on then put bub in so it's a one person job, and they mean you are completely hands free. i've only tried it with a doll so far, but I like it!

I've also got a Jaz sling which is similar to the D and Z ones, again haven't tried it but I don't think I will be as confident with it as I am with the MOby wrap as I'd worry about bub tipping out if I had to chase a gremlin.

I had a Natures Sway with the gremlins and it worked fine. Patapums are back packs I think... possibly front, ergo's are back or front, but they are structured carriers, so more padded and spread weight well - but pricier. Have just had another big look at them all. I can't believe how many types there are. The unido and the dolce and zoet look quite easy to put on.

I've heard pretty varying feedback about naturessway, they definately don't suit everyone - which is why you see them all the time for cheap on TM in "near new condition"

Moby wraps are pretty much a long strip of cloth as far as I can see... it probably takes a bit to learn how to use them, depending where in NZ (auk or chch would be best for getting help) someone might be able to show you how they work.

I would suggest a dulce & zoet, or unido sling - NZ made by WAHMs, nice variety of prints and all that, also nice price.

If you can afford something more, then Patapums/Ergos are apparently really good.

I have decided that I am going to try using a sling with bub #2 and was looking at the moby slings on line last night. Has anyone used one? I couldn't see whether they were just one long peice of fabric -although didn't think they were? I want one that is easy to put the baby in and that I can do without someone there to help me. They look comfortable to wear once they are on.
Also has anyone compared a nature sway sling to a moby sling? Which was easier to put on and most comfortable.
