I've been stalking waiting for news lol. Yeah at the end of the day whats important is healthy bubs and healthy mum. I was lucky enough not to have c-sect in the end as they had to wait until my BP went up (was dangerously low) and by that time I'd magically been able to dilate enough to push yay.

Hope you had/are having fun shopping with your lil bro!

The still offered for DH to cut the cord as well, it had been cut but he would have cut it a bit shorter I think and he got to go over with Spencer whilst he was weighed, cleaned up and checked out etc and then he carried him over and gave him to me which was quite nice. So all those sorts of things can be "planned".
My arms weren't strapped down but I could only use one of them, one had the iv in and had to stay where it was and the other had the bp thing round it so I could move it enough to hold Spencer but that was all.

Hope it went well this afternoon, cool that you get to see him on the scan again.

Im just keeping an open mind about everything, so that I wont be disapointed if it doesnt go to plan.

If I have to have a c section then I guess there isnt much i can plan anyways, but I definitly want DF there next to me though...and I dont want my arms strapped down(ive heard they do that somtimes!).
So yeah, they will do it at middlemore then transfer me to Pukekohe maternity the next day or that night I guess.

They were preping me for a c/s but i wouldnt have made it to the theatre so out he came feet first. i blame his dad for giving him bad directions and for going away for the weekend Josh was obviously annoyed he was left behind and missing out on the drag racing. To be honest i didnt have time to be scared i was that busy asking for drugs when they told me i might need a c/s i thought just my luck but will someone get this bloody thing out now!!!

    Author: cuppatea
Subject: 16965
Posted: 07 May 2008 at 8:20am

I didn't know Spencer was breech until my waters had broke and I was in labour and then all of a sudden they were talking about c/s and then about a hundred people came in the room talking to me about millions of things and stabbing IV's into my arms (they couldn't get it in and kept stabbing me everywhere).
Now that really freaked me out and luckily for me my labour stopped and it didn't happened there and then and I had some time to get my head around the fact that I would have a c/s, I had stupidly assumed that i wouldn't.

So what I am trying to say is yes it is very stressful but it's also great that your midwife is so on to it and is sending you for the scan to be sure. If I was you I would look closely into the ECV (they refused to do one on me as my waters had ruptured and they were worried that they might get him sideways and my waters go and again and be in a worse situation) look into birthing a breech baby, I was given the option but strongly advised not to take it and after looking into it a bit and my individual situation I decided not to try it, and also look into c/s. I thought having a c/s was the worse case scenario but actually although it was by no means a walk in the park it also wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and at the end of the day Spencer arrived safe and healthy and I was still safe and healthy too.

Good luck for the scan and I hope he has flipped head down for you.

Movements I felt everywhere. He was the type of breach where his bum was engaged and his head and feet were under my ribs, he came out sucking his toes...lol. If you press down at the top of your bump you may be able to feel the head, it will be very hard compared to anything else of the baby that you can feel.
Doing the downward dog (yoga move) gives baby more room to help them turn or just being on hands and knees if downward dog makes you feel faint.
Good luck tomorrow, hopefully he has turned and that is a head engaged.

Jack turned at 34 weeks and it was incredibly uncomfortable.

As for feelings, it depends what sort of breech they are. Jack was transverse (straight across pretty much with bum down low) and I used to get his bum poking up every once in a while, 1 foot on my left side (the other was tucked away) and hands on the top right part of my belly. I was told that with breech, if you look at your bump it should be bigger around the bottom part of your bump as thats where the bum is, whereas with normal pregnancies at the later stages the top part is on a sharper angle as the head sort of disappears where its supposed to go.

Only 5 weeks to go now... so exciting!
