unfortantly last time my boy had a cold he got rushed into hospital in critical condition.......mainly cause i was in bad shape after labour that when i breast feed he got all the drugs i was on........now his immune system bites.........:) this time i want to stay on top of it so are trying everything minus more meds........but i hear you with the lemon.........but the black currant did slip my mind........may get some today and warm it for him see if that helps..........he does it ALOT of mandarines etc as he is a fruit and vege eater so that should help too...even a little :)

I think the lemon is for the Vit C and the honey is the soothing part unfortunately, by itself it would be stingy on a sore throat I would have thought. What about blackcurrent juice or somthing similar to Ribena that has good doses of Vit C but not stingy. I would have thought colds are one of those things you ride out with babies like we have to adults, keep warm and hydrated, lots of sleep and maybe the odd lot of medicine to help get sleep. i dont know how soothing lemon is ... sometimes medication is the best thing.. or maybe approach your local health shop.
