Plunket recommends that you still use boiled water until they are a year. Its just as easy as tap water if you fill the jug in the morn and boil and then you can just use it all day.

I guess it depends on whether you're still wanting to BF or not. I have just gone through exactly this. Tom was all formula except the first one in the mornign. I started to suspect he was either not getting much from me or not taking much as he seemed really hungry soon after as well.

So last week I just dropped it one day, got him out of bed, plonked him by his toys and made his cereal. He ate that, an hour later I gave him 150ml bottle and put him back to bed....no hassles.

I did this for a few days and then decided (when he started waking at sparrows fart) that 100ml as soon as he wakes and then breaky at 7am was a better way to do it. I still give him a bottle before I put him back down to bed.

My 10cents worth would be give the morning feed if your still happy to then give breakfast not long after.

We stopped sterilising bottles at 6 months but we still used boiled water even now. I just dont like the taste of our town supply and just heat the water only in the microwave (if the kettle is cold) then add the formula - that way its all mixed together and no chance of burning little man as by the time the formula is added and shaken up the 30secs stand time is over.

Sterilising can stop at 3months, although I know a lot of people still do it for a wee while longer. Hi BOB!

If you think she is not satisfied with BM then just replace it with a bottle, your milk will just dry up eventually. If she is FF the rest of the day she is probably craving the fullness especially after sleeping all night

If you are wanting to stop it, will you give her a bottle in it's place? If it's the morning bottle, for Cooper that needs to be a big one normally 250mls. So you will need to give her something close to that.

If thats the onle bfeed she has each day I would try and keep that going for as long as possible so you both continue to get the benefits.

Why don't you just give her her solids when she gets hungry an hour later? What do you mean by morning feed? Like does she go back to sleep for an hour or wants food an hour later?

Is she breast or bottle the rest of the day?

Is she on solids? For the last wee while I have been giving Arabella a morning feed which only satisfies her for about an hour. I want to stop it. Do I just stop BFding or do I need to do more?

Also when do you need to stop sterilizing bottles and boiling the water for the milk? If ever. . .
