yea, saline is what most doctors recommend, me being the hypercondriac (sp) that i am, took Eden to the doc last week to see what he thought about her snotty nose and he said just to use saline and put 1-2 drops up each nostril and just let it work, he said not to use aspirators unless u really have to, he also said to massage her nose just below the eye (where the sinuses are) when i feed her and this can help to dissipate it.

good luck and heres hoping you dont have to suck it out again!

linzy is right... you could make your own saline solution if you want! Just don't use very much salt at all because little ones are really susceptible to salt poisoning!! You may be able to check with PlunketLine because I think you can use boiled cooled water. When Chloe was too blocked up to drink we took her to the Dr and they gave us a little bottle of saline solution (which you can probably just get from the pharmacy) and we just used a little syringe to put some up her nose. She squirmed but didn't cry, and then sneezed it out. My DF sucks them out after we squirt some saline solution up there. Sounds gross but not really when it is your own flesh and blood. The aspirators just didnt work as good especially if your baby is squirmy.

ETA: He dosnt actually eat it! He spits it out on to a tissue!

Daniel is a snotty baby too.  I am amazed at the size of the boogers that I get out.  I tried the thing that is supposed to suck them out but it doesn't work for me.  I use a cotton bud and get them out that way.

Just the pharmacy. There is another brand as well that is ok so if you can't see it just ask the pharmacist. Isnt it frustrating that you cant reach them???? I also put some dilute Eucalyptus oil on a flannel and tucked it under Tom's bottom sheet and raised the top end of his cot to help him sleep too. You can get some stuff called "fess little noses" its a saline solution that you squirt up their nose and is ok to use from birth. We have had to use it on Spencer a few times. If I look up Hannah's nose I can see a bunch of bogeys.
She "whistles" when she breathes and is also making snorting noises.
She keeps waking herself up because she can't breathe properly. I've got her in her pram with the back up a little bit to help the airways...
But is there anything you can do to help flush out the boogers?
I had her in the bathroom with me while I had my shower thinking the steam might help clear things out, but it hasn't worked.
