yep, we had no end of problems with Ayja, at first was great and worked well but then for us it was the constant getting up and not going to sleep and getting into mischeif.. getting into stuff she shouldn't. What were your reasons for taking the side off in the first place?

I would suggest putting the side back on then maybe just leaving it lowered for a little while and see how that goes. Otherwise, just leave it and try again in a couple of weeks.

Our DD is just over 19mos and in a big bed now, but she was very clearly wanting to climb in and out on her own. I need some help!!!

Yesterday we took the side off our daughter's cot, she's 20 months.
She's not the easiest to go down in the day at the best of times but is normally happy to just play and read in her cot until she falls off to sleep. Yesterday, she freaked out and whenever I went to leave the room she got herself so worked up she nearly vomited. She finally dropped off after an hour with me lying on the cushions beneath the cot, but only slept for an hour not her usual 2.

Then last night the same thing happened, but she dropped off after only half an hour but once again I had to be in the room, and when i checked on her at 9pm she was asleep on the cushions on the floor so I'm assuming she must have rolled out and not woken up!

So I don't know what to do, if I close her door she screams, if I leave it open she just leaves the room crying.... it's breaking my heart but she never has had a problem being on her own in her room before we took the side off.
