I do the same thing - I prestuff all the pockets then sort them into 3 sections - day nappies, night nappies & daycare nappies. Then I just showed him how a good fit should look and told him to concentrate on the fit, rather than which popper he used, as I found that with there can be variances between different nappies. He'll happily wash, hang out & change nappies - he just leaves the stuffing to me as I have certain combos that work best in different nappies - and I actually like the stuffing part!

My DH has no issue with snaps over velcro, he actually will choose a snap nappy over velcro all the time. He gets more pissed off with the velcro ones.

Emz I have BG 2.0 and Rowan has fitted them since 3kg although they say that it should go from 3.5kg. I didn't find the insert bulky infact it was great as it was more absorbent than the fuzzis and so I could have Rowan in it at night and not worry about her leaking through.

I will probably get some 3.0 but the 2.0 are great as far as I'm concerned. I have 8 BG and 6 fuzzis and those are plenty so long as you wash each day (that's including the ones she poos on before you get them done up). So 12 should be about right.

Emz, i have fuzzis and BG 2.0 and my DF prefers the BG. I stuff them because he doesnt understand that hemp goes on bottom and she needs 2 inserts and plus his hands dont fit, but he loves them and said they are just like a sposie, cos of the velcro tabs. The new ones also now come with an additional newborn insert - to reduce the bulk on a small baby, which might be worth considering seeing as your little boy is only a few weeks old. There is also the take-off nappy on trade me which might be worth trying as a comparison. It's only $15 and comes with a small hemp insert - then you can buy the Cotton Babies one-size mf insert that comes with the BG seperately from Green Beans ($36 for 6), saving you approx. $10 per nappy.

Cool thanks! I'm going to go and get one as a trial, then order some online. Think I'll just get the 2.0 as they're $27 each at the moment which is pretty good value really. I'm thinking just 12? And in the winter if I can't dry them I'll just use disposables until they dry. Sound OK? It is the shape of the tabs (smaller apparently), the velcro hooks (better), there is now a PUL bit on the inside front of the nappy so it won't wick out through the top, and the hole for putting the inserts in at the back has been made wider for bigger hands.

I'll be buying a dozen bum genius for Jack soon (will buy one first and trial obviously) but have seen that the 3.0 OSFA comes out on Feb 4th through bumbles. No price marketed as yet. And I can't for the life of me tell what the difference is between the 2.0 and 3.0? I don't really want to buy a more expensive one (I assume the newer model will be more expensive than $30 which 2.0's currently are) if there's not much of a difference.
