Caprece does this daily as well, if she does is before she goes to sleep I just put her back in the middle and if its at the end I get her up anyway. I could not help laughing when seeing Yusra caught between the bars of the cot sleeping half way. I did not expect it to stop simply by placing a duvet/blanket on the side but it did. I was also thinking about getting airwrap or cot bumper but I don't think we need it now.

Michaela used to get caught and stuck too. We used a safety sleep for awhile but it became useless once she started undoing the velcro. Found she also got stuck even when in a sleeping bag but didn't try a bumper or anything. We have a bumper that goes right around the cot so we've never had that problem. It also used to keep Gina from seeing too much thus helping her relax and fall alseep as she's a curious thing. Now she can stand up/sit up and it gives her something soft to lean on. It also means she can't bump her head on the bars when she moves around at night. Hi my DD Kryssi is the same age as your little guy. She isn't doing the leg tangle but she is getting too tall for the cot (she's above average in height) so we are going to move her into a bed in the next couple of months, as soon as she can crawl backwards down stairs (ie out of bed). Ummmm I'd just use net curtains type fabric or something similar because you can buy that by the metre at spotlight. Then you could cut it down to how you would want, it should be fairly strong depending on the type that you get. I will leave the safe t sleep until last I think. He doesn't seem in any danger to me I just think that when he can't move again due to being caught it wakes him up.

Thanks Stacey, hadn't thought about mesh type fabric - had been thinking of cotton or muslin. Any idea where I might get some? you could google that.
personally my kids have done that, but as they get older, they just learn to pull their legs/arms back in.
With Reef he was almost climbing out of his cot at about 8months so we moved him into his portacot then... and had no issues. Tyde never never seems to have a problem with his arms/legs stuck out the cot, but he is 11months now so alot more mobile now.. he sleeps in his peke moe and could get his arms/legs wedged (he sure does move around his cot enough times in his sleep!) but hasn't seemed to have had the problem...

I was wondering the same thing, Linzy. I use a safe t sleep for the same reason. One night Bella woke crying for me to find her with both her legs caught in between the bars (and she had her sleep sack on too, so that didn't stop it ) I didn't want to stop her moving around, but she gets herself into such awkward positions that she can't get out of again, I was worried for her safety. The other thing you could try is getting a strong mesh type fabric to put around the outside of the cot kind of like a portacot. That would stop his legs. For a while now Jack has been putting his legs through the bars of his cot while he sleeps and then getting stuck, once he had both legs stuck between different bars halfway to his tummy! To combat this we put him in a sleeveless sleeping bag for his nighttime sleep but still manages to get caught. I had thought to cover the moving side of the cot in fabric so that he can't get his legs through but I wouldn't be able to see him from the doorway to check on him and I worry that there will be no air flow as the other side is against the wall and the ends are solid.
We were given a safe T Sleep as a present but have never used it as personally I don't like the idea of Jack not being able to move at all.
