I was devastated when dd refused me - and she was still feeding 4 times a day.  Best of all we went to a family wedding that weekend and I was engorged....imagine all those family hugs (ouchie!!).  It was also around the time that I introduced formula in a sippy cup as I was preparing for returning to work - I think mine both realised how easy the cup thing was!  <br /><br />Well done you for the fab start you've given your beautiful daughter!]]>

More as a comfort thing to have a nap.  Tried again tonight but the screaming started so I guess I am not producing enough for her anyway.  She feel asleep with a nice warm tummy full of formula with no problems.  <br />It makes me feel much better to see her so content - and when it comes down to it, that is all that really matters<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0"> ]]>

Your milk will settle down on it's own accord but it could take 3-4 weeks until you are properly "empty".]]>

A few half hearted attempts and lots of tears.  At the same time as the tears she was looking over my shoulder at the table to search for the bottle!(which wasn't there as i hadn't made one up in hope).  She has only ever had two in her whole life! I did stop cold turkey though and doing the above had no problems thankfully (though I did feel like a had a colwslaw stuffed in my bra!!!<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0"> )<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by Paws</span>]]>

To try to preven infection (which might not happen anyway), I would express for all but 1 feed and slowly work down till you stop doing that.  Also, it could be a phase for Sam, I read in little treasures awhile back that a few babies do this and a lot of mums have found success by putting vegemite/marmite on their nipples!]]>
