I'm nervous about how its going to change my personality - I like how I am now, and I know the power of hormones... so that concerns me (based on my family, I'd say theres a good chance I'll become a rather obsessive, over-protective mum, and I don't want to be such a worrier!).
I'm also nervous about how its going to affect my career. I work in a male-dominated industry, and I get away with it at the moment by "being one of the boys" in many respects, and I think a big preggie belly is really going to reinforce that I'm not one of the boys. I don't want my workmates and clients to change their attitude to me because of that - I've worked hard to be tough enough.
I'm not scared about this exactly, but I'm concerned that I'll have kids and none of my siblings will for some time. I'm the only married one so far and none of the others are even close (not that they have to be married to have kids, but its a useful indication). I loved being part of a big rowdy mob of cousins as a kid and I want my kids to have that (and DH only has 1 young sister, so cousins are unlikely to come from there either). I also don't currently have many friends with kids, so combined with no siblings with kids either, I'm concerned that it could be quite an isolating experience for me too. I was scared of losing the baby, and then developing post natal psychosis (very rare). Bleeding during the pregnancy. I had some bleeding when I was pregnant with Andrew and worked myself up big time with it. Then when I was pregnant with Josh the bleeding fear came back.

I was scared of the birth, i wanted lots of drugs and no pain at all, as it turned out, i had no pain relief at all and a 24 hour labour, yes it hurt like nothing ive ever experienced...but once she was out, that was it,and now i barely remember the pain

I was scared of loosing the baby and then scared that something would be wrong with him and then scared of the actual birth and then scared of SIDS.
Was worried how I would cope without much sleep, whether I have the patience to be a good mum, how a baby would effect my marriage, whether we would cope money wise etc etc I could probably go on forever.

I think go into it always being open minded, weight is ok because I get a baby out of it, saggy boobs wont matter as Hubby will love me no matter what I look like.
I think the thing I fear would be not being able to be open minded and making the wrong choices for my family and myself. Weight gain, saggy boobs, and lots of tears are all part of the package of having a baby I think! They were my fears too along with having a c section (which unfortunately I had to have, but they aren't as bad as what I thought).

Now I have the baby in my arms 5 weeks on from birth, the excess 10kgs and saggy boobs are the last thing on my mind to tell the truth, I am way too tired to think about those things

I'm scared of losing a baby first and foremost.

Then, I'm afraid that I won't be able to lose weight after having the baby, and that I'll only have cause to wear trackies until the kids are in their teens!

I'm scared I'll pee my pants!! Not kidding - I have a very weak bladder.
Little bit concerned about the weight gain but not really as that is something that I can try and keep under control and I'll keep up with my walking and swimming. I'm praying that I only get fruit cravings - ha!! Who am I kidding.

To be honest, I'm not really scared of anything.
The weight gain and saggy boobs etc are waaaay in the back of my mind. I just want a healthy, happy baby.

Bridges are built to be crossed. And as long as you've got someone by your side you can do anything

I'm scared of having another miscarriage...but following that I don't think I'm hugely scared of anything. No so much scared of the weight gain, but scared it'll not go again after giving birth! Also a bit scared of saggy boobs as they're already heading south and breast feeding is likely to make that worse
