oh cool i didnt think that Astin was that bad but the pead said that he has exzema, asthma and alergies!!!????

I think (not 100% sure tho) that Pepti is partially hydrolysed so some of the milk protein is still there, therefore if your child is very allergic they have to have neocate, which is extensively hydrolysed. I gave Astin 2 feeds of it so far and he wolfed it down!! but man does it smell when its in powder form!!!!!???!!!! it doesnt smell the same when made up though. Yes there is a difference, the neocate is broken down to amino acids and the pepti isn't broken down quite that far. We were prescribed neocate and got our yesterday but Spencer won't drink it.
If you have problems or want info about the formulas and the difference between the two you can phone 0800 NEOCATE and speak to their nutricianist.
If you have problem with Astin not drinking it you can mix with his normal formula (but make them up seperately and then mix, I didn't know that and made them in the same bottle and Spencer did a ginormous puke), You can also try vanilla essence or golden syrup (but she advised only doing that as a last resort and to wean it out quickly)
