Thanks for all your comments guys, it has really helped. I've decided to keep wrapping her till she basically lets me know otherwise. Briahna has always wriggled out of her wrap somehow since she was born. She likes her arms free.

There are times when she will go to sleep with her arms out and times when i need to wrap her to get her to go to sleep cause she flails and hits herself in the face lol.

Arabella has gotten out of her wrap since week 1 not even the nurses or midwives could keep her arm in. . I was wrapping my boy right up until just recently when I gave up because he ALWAYS managed to unwrap himself and get his arms out literally seconds after I had wrapped him up as snug as a bug.

He used to always attack himself at night and in the mornings I would wake to find deep scratches on his face and what not.

Just the past 2 weeks he has started rolling onto his tummy, and is now a tummy sleeper or sometimes sleeps on his side.

I was rather paranoid with the wrapping and cot death risk, and now I have absolutely no control. But I guess Lucas is old enough and big enough to look after himself and know what he is doing.

Several times I have woken to find him face into the mattress sleeping, and scared the crap outta me in doing so!

Exactly the same with my boy... would wake himself up with his hands!

I hardly ever wrap Catherine anymore (3 months) as she used to create such an outcry when she couldn't get to her hands. We put her in her gogo bag and she sleeps better (when not going through a growth spurt!) at night. I always wrap Tom even though he protests (mother knows best right?) He definately sleeps better and I was pleased to discover it is a sleep cue for him. I returned briefly to work the other day and took Tom with me. He was due his afternoon sleep but wouldnt settle so I took off his cover in his buggy and swaddled him in that, dropped the base of the buggy horizontal, put his first focus book to the side, dummy in mouth (just like his cot set up) and he fell STRAIGHT asleep!!! WOW!!! We had real trouble weaning Charlotte from wrapping so I didn't want to have the same problem with Kate. When she was about 2 months I bought this Puckababy wrap thing. Its great because the thing that woke up both my girls when they weren't wrapped was getting their hands up to their faces and this means that their arms are free up to a point but they can't get them up to their faces. Its a nice halfway point between being wrapped and being totally free because they have a little freedon with their arms but are still kind of secured within something. I stopped wrapping Jaymie at about 10 weeks old. By that time she had found her hands and was able to self sooth by sticking them in her mouth and sucking. So she went into the go-go bag instead. I wrapped the gremlins till about 7 months, I started by doing one arm out for their day sleeps, and then a week or so later tried it at night. Elle is 14mths and still has a muslin casually wrapped around her with one arm in. She loves it, it calms her straight away and it is a sleep cue if we are away from home. I would say there is no rush. We stopped wrapping around 10/11 months when Maddie started unwrapping herself. When Kryssi was managing to unwrap herself but still being able to go to sleep (in fact she used to like to hold the wrap in her hands and suckle her fingers), is when I started stopping wrapping her. I just wrapped her looser and looser until not at all - and then I introduced a top sheet, tucked all around, instead.

Ella is still wrapped, but I have started leaving both of her arms out so that she can suck on her thrumb/fingers (started with one arm out during the day and then moved to both arms). Cooper made the call for us, all of a sudden he decided he didn't liked being wrapped and would move around until he got is arms out, he prefers sleeping in his sleeping bag now, and I just make sure his arms are snuggled under the blankets.

I wrapped Jack til 8 months and only stopped cos I couldn't find a wrap big enough lol. If she sleeps fine with wrapping then I wouldn't be in a hurry to stop it.

I stopped wrapping him completely and just tucked him in really tight. He wasn't the best sleeper anyway so it made no difference to his sleeping. I stopped wrapping daniel at about 3 months, he just use to get pissed off if I wrapped him. Perhaps try not wrapping or leaving an arm out during the day and once she has got use to that then try at night. I tried to leave an arm out of Poppy's wrap last night and she woke twice between 6.30pm and 9.30pm which is unheard of with her. She usually goes down and stays down till I wake her at 10.30 for a feed. When did everyone stop wrapping? Also, do you think I should persist with one arm out or leave it a while before trying again?
