It's apparently an unusual reaction, but not unheard of. It does look an awful lot like a viral rash, and the doc probably would have put it down to that except that it was 24-hours post-imm and she wasn't sick/unhappy at all.
I talked to the allergy specialist about it and she reviewed the pics and said she was happy for Mercedes to have the 4th jab, which she had with no reaction at all.
It is tea tree based and has done such a fantastic job of clearing up Sam's face. I also hate the aqueous cream. I stopped using it becasue I found washing her in plain water nicer than that horrible stuff. We are now trying to find more natural products to put on Sam. I have been putting apricot oil and this renew cream on Sam and she has never looked better.

I'd put it down to overheating/excema. Grab a prescription for some kind of acquaeous cream (sp?) when you next see your doc. Another thing to do is not bath her as often. I know that sounds icky but it will help her skin to regulate it's own oils etc - soaking in water makes her skin work overtime to dry out and she'll over-dry if that makes sense. Go to every 2nd-3rd day for bathing.

Its about $9 a tub or you can get it free on script.
It is possible for something they are allergic to to pass through breastmilk, just means that they only have a small reaction to it (bit early to be illiminating things from your diet though), but something to remember if nothing else seems to be causing it.

If there are dry patches though that could well be ezcema. The best thing you can put on it is an emmolient (sp?) cream, like sudocream or nutraplus and only use aqueos in the bath don't use soap. Make sure you pat dry don't rub and make sure you don't over heat as that can irritate the ezcema. Spencer had a viral rash, heat rash and got ezcema at the same time and it all happened in 24 hours, it happened at the same time that we were swapping him from breastmilk to formula and it turns out that he has an allergy to cow milk protein. However like others have said it could be caused by detergent/pet hair/pollen etc. If it doesn't settle down in a couple of days I would see the doc.

If you show it to your doc you'll be able to get some good cream to put on it. Excema can be triggered from a number of things: heat (sweat then over-drying), food (particularly dairy) and washing products/different materials against the skin; and it looks quite similar to a viral rash also but I think it is excema. Briona and I both get a heat type of excema but I have siblings who get dairy triggered excema. It should get better with age (although some people never entirely grow out of it). You'll probably find this summer the worst and then less from there. Briona and Kryssi often come out like that, particularly as little babies, when I overdressed them.
