We have tried all these things too (got a consultant who was wonderful) but still had problems. We are doing ok with the expressing and Joy is putting on weight and is happy so...it's all good.
Lumps have gone from breast (I hope!). I did a big express and massage today. Now I am just sore - probably a bit bruised from all the massaging

How I got him on was I would start a bottle feed then when he was over that inital starving part, quickly swap him over. I was using nipple sheilds to make it easier for him to latch on and milk had started going into them so when he sucked it was already there. Usually he was in that "milk coma" thing they get. It took a few tries, but it happened finally at 6 weeks and I cold turkeyed him with the bottle the next day and with the nipple shields a week later. Have you asked your midwife for help from a lactation consultant? Thats how I got all my help, it was well worth it.

You are doing a great job and your lil lady is sooo cute! Well done!!

If you have any sore lumps or red patches then take some paracetamol and try to massage the lumps when you express, really really hurts. If you midwife thinks you might be getting an infection she will give you antibiotics, it is safe to continue giving milk to bubs when taking them. I had three courses in 11 weeks. I spent the last few weeks expressing all my feeds for him to try and stop getting another one.
If you are gonna express full time I would recommend getting a medela double electric pump, I was able to express in 10-15mins using that.
Some people say that if you only express your milk will drop off, but I never had that problem and actually would express more than what he could drink.
Good luck and your right bonding is more important than breastfeeding.
