I had a wall oven and cooktop for my new kitchen in 2011. There was a delay with kitchen and we didn't install for 6 months, when we did we found Parmco had packed a badly damaged oven in a pristine box. Luckily the retailer replaced it (not the first time apparently!) but I later found out that the warranty started with the purchase of the first oven. The new oven had a faulty fan and had 2 repairs before it was replaced. Also the clock faulted and needed replacing. The instruction book said clean the oven with warm soapy water. That was useless so I reverted to traditional cleaning methods and all the chrome came off the racks - normal wear & tear not covered under warranty!! Just out of warranty the clock faulted again and the grill stopped working (corroded wires) The clock acted like the timer had gone off - would start flashing and turn the oven off. The electrician recommended by Parmco bypassed the clock so the oven would work without it because the clock costs about $200 to replace. Interesting that you've had a crap time with your appliances only thing I could fault on our oven, cook top & rangehood is the ball bearing on the slider in the oven.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD I RECOMMEND PARMCO APPLIANCES TO MY FRIENDS OR PEOPLE I KNOW my wife and I had our kitchen renovated in 2008 through a well known professional kitchen installer franchise where they installed all parmco appliances (dishwasher,oven and range hood) in the 4 years we have had our renovated kitchen... our dishwasher has broken down 3 times!!(now we dont even bother getting it fixed again so it sits collecting dust!!) our oven has blown an element twice!! and the range hood goes when it feels like it!!! we have had electrician after electrician fix these useless pieces of garbage for them all to agree....we were ripped off!!! Even Parmco head office dont want to know...their response? we were going to get them, so i did lots of research. And everything that i read was good. We have Pamco in our place (we are renting currently) and I am not 100% sure that I would want them in my own place. The oven is fine - but not fantastic, and a DOG to clean for some reason. We had a dishwasher too and it was HOPELESS!! Had nothing but problems with it (to be honest I have no idea how old it was or whether it was a shoddy install - prob both!!)

Are they any good?

We're in the process of renovating our kitchen (getting quotes at this stage) and need to replace quite a few items so can't afford to get the expensive stuff but still want fairly decent appliances. I've never heard of them myself but the lady at Placemakers yesterday said they were just as good as F & P stuff!
