oh god  I haven't even counted the "normal birthdays" still to come....

I made fruit kebabs with marshmellows and the kids (and the adults ) loved them.

Used mandarins, strawberries, kiwifruit and grapes and marshmellows.

We were supposed to have carrot sticks but forgot to put them out -oops !

WOW.....so Sam is one...!  What the hell happened ?!!!

We had his big party on Saturday...it was awesome, all our friends and family that could come were there...think there were about 60 odd people there....counting all the kiddies...but I think everyone had a good time !

Yesterday we were at another friends 1st b'day party and today we had a quiet family lunch at VA VOOM (yum) and then Rodneys family came over and we had a lovely family afternoon for Sam's actual birthday.

Gosh he was ssssssssoooooo spoilt with all the gifts he was given and .....he had two birthday cakes ! One on Saturday which had this really awesome giraffe on it and today Granny and Aunty Kate had made him a tiger cake.

Am kinda glad that its all over in a sense...its such a big deal and   everyone else is so excited about the 1st as well.  But its over now....and our wee ones are growing up so fast aren't they !

Holy Cow Sam is one on Monday !!!

We are having the big party tomorrow ! Its a jungle party and by the sounds of it....most of the kiddies are dressing up which is awesome as I said on the invite that it was totally optional ! We've got about 35-40 adults and 22+ kids - eeekkk!!!

Thank goodness we are having it at the church hall where all our family "events" (ie" Engagement, baby shower, christening) are held.!!

Sam is onto his 3rd ear infection with AB's in 7 weeks !!  freaking hell, so not fair on the wee guy !  He burst his left ear drum the 1st time but we are getting very good at picking it up super quick now !!

Sam has cut his 2nd top tooth !  its just peeking thru the gum! yay !

He is in bed at the moment - tired after preschool....doing some mince with onions, cabbage, courgettes, pumpkin, parsnip, carrot, peas and corn for more of Sam's meals !  woohoo.

Am off to a Plunket Toddlers without tears thingy tonight....has anyone else been or been invited ??

Yeah its not too bad....I cried a lot the night before the big start day and was still iffy the MOnday morning but am all good now.....am starting to get my confidence back and beginning to remember more things ! hahahahaaa.

Its great that Sam has settled into preschool and the get up and go routine in the morning ! hahahaa.....oh and i love being paid again !! woohoo ! Has really taken the load off....not that we were destitute to start with but are going to be more comfortable.....after Xmas etc we might even be able to take some major chunks outta the mortgage !  ( dreams are still free aye ! LOL !)

Yay Mel, congrats on your new official status of SAHM !

Work is going well, have had to take a half day already with Sam but they are really really good about me leaving.

Sam has settled in really well into the going to Preschool and granny's routine and we are doing really well with me back at work etc.

Still only 3 teeth here and still not crawling but not worried - Sam is a lot more animated and talks heaps now. Wriggles around on his bum but he is just a happy happy funny wee boy....ooohhhh so in love with him at the moment (well always really!)

Being at work means I see the wee things more clearly now cos I can't spend all day with him...so in that respect its wonderful as are the huge smiles and hugs I get when I pick him up !

Quick update on Sam

• into his 3rd week at preschool and doing really well now... he is so much more animated....
• he is getting over a cold, an ear infection on the right side and a perferated ear drum on the left and cutting his first top tooth, which makes 3 in total.
• because he was sick.....he/we got into the habit of him sleeping in bed with me so now we are trying to break that one !  gggrrrr
• Still not crawling but is pushing himself backwards around the room when he can be bothered - physio was here on Monday and she is happy with his progress so thats good.
• eating ....hhhhmmmm bit hard to comment cos he has been sick and teething and we think the other top tooth is on its way....

So all in all we are doing ok..... I'm just trying to get my head around being back at work !
