hi there everyone! i am 6 weeks pregnant (almost) and am wondering what everyone is doing or has done differently when pregnant again.

i am now eating freshly cooked mussels and am having NZ camembert which i thought was  a big No No during my 1st pregnancy.

however i did have the occasional shandy with my 1st pregnancy but not too sure if i would do it again this time round.

also i slept on my left side all through the 1st pregnancy but really dont want to do that again cause i have now stretched my right side and it looks hideous. maybe i could sleep on my right and stretch out the otherside so it evens up. I even mowed my lawns this morning, i have to tell my hubby that i am pregnant and not sick.... i did get him to empty the catcher thou.

I'm not consciously doing anything different.  I know some people are much more relaxed with 'the rules' during their second pregnancy but IMO my daughter is so perfect that I saw no reason to doing anything different and every reason to follow the same recommendations during this pregnancy.

If anything though I do get a lot less sleep, although I don't really get a choice in that matter.

I'm more relaxed about what I eat. I'm not fussed about eating runny eggs and I was a little worried about that with Daniel. But basically the rest is all the same

I think i'm the opposite this time, I'm way more paranoid. I have 1 healthy child so I keep thinking I may not be as lucky 2nd time round!

I exercised up until 30 weeks doing body combat 2 or 3 times a week. So apart from that i've done it all the same really!

I am a little more relaxed although still watching what I am eating. I am eating eggs this time though, although only if I (or family under close observation ) cook them and I make sure the white and yolk are solid.

I am doing aquanatal this time whereas with Jack I wouldn't have been bothered to go out after just getting home from work.

Oh and I get far less sleep and do more heavy lifting i.e. a toddler

I am slightly more relaxed about food rules - although wasn't too hard out during the 1st pregnancy, although I AM trying to watch what I eat as I put 25kgs on during my 1st pregnancy and want to avoid that this time around.

Have had far less sleep and 'relaxation' time this time around, and like Linzy alot more heavy lifting with a toddler.

First pregnancy: Private gynae in SA. Everything the same. Had antenatal classes with first one. Planned a water birth, landed up with c-section.

This one: Midwife in NZ. Not going for antenatal classes. Planning a c-section.

Food and all that I am careful what I am eating but not super careful. Same as last time. However this time I am eating peanut butter that I didnt eat last time around.
Continue studies this time around that I didnt do last time around.

food wise, i havent changed anything, i have always worked by the rule if i ate it lots before i was pregnant then why stop just because im pregnant (but i do stay away from seafood and delifood).

as for the rest of the stuff, with no1 i was working fulltime while pregnant, and did lots of running around etc etc,

this pregnant i had to take it really easy for the first 13wks, minimal housework etc, had to make sure i rested as much as possible...but i suppose being under the highrisk clinic does mean that things are al ot different this time around

so keep active!!
eat what you know is fresh...im sure seafood is fine i ate it. as it is rich in iron....
