Topic: 14dpo, hcg 50 Posted: 22 September 2008 at 5:28pm |
I was really kind of hoping for 100 and 50 does seem on the low side. From what I can find online there are a whole lot of sites that say 100 is average for 14dpo and a whole lot that say 49 is. Guess I have to wait and see what happens in my next test. In the meantime can anyone tell me stories of similar hcg levels at 14 dpo that led to a normal pregnancy.
Thanks

Please don't get hung up on the number itself as it really doesn't mean anything. Just wait and see if it doubles like it should, that will tell you far more.
With my m/c I was only 30 at 14DPO and the doc said although low it was early so probably ok but then 2 days later it had only risen to 47, it was only then that the doc said there could be a problem and I had more bloods and then a scan once I reached 6 weeks (but kinda already knew what the outcome of that would be).
Fingers crossed for at least 100 at your next blood test.

Have you ever visited The Lost Ones Vanilla Bean? I found the ladies there an invaluable source of support thru both of my pregnancies after loss, they all understand exactly what it's like and made me feel so normal!

Vanillabean- like cuppatea said, it's the rising that's important, not the numbers themselves ((hugs)).
Mine this time at 17dpo was 357 or 397 (can't remember) but it tripled over the next few days and has continued to at least double every few days since then.I only actually bothered with the 3 blood tests as I had severe cramping in my first week.
I know with my m/c in March, it was 31 at 14dpo so yours is nearly double that.
Sounds ok to me, but we all understand your worry....boy oh boy do I!

Wow, I actually had some nausea just now. I just finished eating dinner and then it hit me and I had to run to the toilet. Didn't actually throw up but felt like I was just about to for about three minutes.
Now, THAT'S exciting. I never had nausea with my other pregnanciesw.

Hmmm, now I'm wondering if it was just a side effect from the progesterone suppositories I'm taking. Oh well.

My morning sickness is always like that, feel like i'm gonna chuck, go and hang out in the loo for a while and then it would pass. Found that 6-10weeks though I would have constant nausea and then also a few occasions of hanging out by the loo just in case. Would even go all hot etc like just before your gonna puke but not actually puke.
When is your next blood test?

VB, don't forget that most early HPT's detect levels between 25-50, many people still get only faint positives at 14DPO, some still get negatives until at least 16DPO so my thinking is if they get only faint or no positives at 14DPO then their levels can't be too high and yet they still go on to having perfectly healthy pregnancies.
many hugs and positive purple fuzzy vibes coming your way.

Thanks guys. I'm feeling a little bit calmer today.
Next blood test is tomorrow so I should know by the end of the work day how the initial indications are.

Hey Vanillabean, glad your feeling better about things today. I haven't gone for any blood tests, I have just decided that what will be, will be. Cause I know it will freak me out if its not what it should be. But the sore boobies are reassuring, lol, and today I had a hormonal moment (the first ) where I was just about crying cooking dinner for no good reason
So glad you had some nausea cause I know even though its yuck, it makes us feel that the pregnancy is normal ,iykwim. Im sure your levels will have doubled nicely by tomorrow What is your EDD? Somewhere near mine, is that right?
